i was kindof wondering what others thought about quick chat… in the way of the usefulness. when someone is yelling “i need a medic” all the way across the map, you can hear it clear as day… and it kindof makes it hard to understand sometimes who’s saying it. this is particularly important with messages such as “fire in the hole” or “incomming”. of course you can look up at the compass and see the exclaimation point to figure out who it is, but in the heat of battle, i dont ever find myself doing that only to be shot in the face with an mp40. also, i find that too often i don’t care what people are saying unless they are immediately around me. ok, so, my suggestion is this: make voice chats 3d… sorta. make them like footsteps, so that you can tell the direction they are comming from. i think this would be kick ass and would do a ton to improve the team-work in enemy territory. of course, you could always make it an option to turn this on or off, but i think it would be a kickass feature, because you can still read the msgs if you aren’t near them. i don’t know how hard this would be to implement, but i really think it would make the game much better.
share you’re thoughts/opinions on this… i don’t care if u think it’s a horrible idea, just tell me why. you could make it so that if it’s something regarding your class you always hear it (such as “we need an engineer” “disarm the dynomite” “i need ammo” “i need a medic” etc…). just a thought – a concept plan. if you know of anything to “add” to this, please add it
