Speaking of bloopers and out takes…Are there any for W:ET? I would love to hear those
Questions on the game from the Quakecon vid
Heres a few:
“They’ve stolen the Yugo! ahh damn it (mumbles something)”
“Et tu Brute?” (for medic tk/revive)
“We’re taking fire…(slipping sound) AUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHH!! AUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHH! Damn, that coffee’s burning my leg! Damn you Bongoboy!”
“Those tight, dark Axis pants make me look slimmer. And hotter!” - Replaced with “I’m a covert ops!”
“I said I ******* need a medic, Rambo!” - intended to be played after saying “HEAAAAAAAAAAAL MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” a few times
“WE HAF STOLEN DE ALLIED PANTS! UND THEY ARE SEHR SEXY!” - German vsay
BTW would be great to have some “neutral” voice messages included.
For example “objectives” instead of specific names of objectives (like “radar part” for W:ET).
From the videos you can see the announcer speech is as neutral as possible. It’d say something like “we’ve captured the forward spawn” while the game itself displays the message “we’ve captured the tunnel entrance” or something.
Custom wm_announce based in the script tied to a neutral vsay, perhaps?
(Note to devs: What I want for Christmas - Santa, I want the ability to fix borked scripts / player exploits with a native custom script directory (aka b_mapscriptdirectory from etpro). And as many entity keys as possible that can be modified from the script. And the ability to spawn in new entities and brushes.)
I think this is the voice actor you mean:
Granville Van Dusen
It really does sound like it’s him from W:ET as the Allied Commander. What I would love to hear, or I would rather like to SEE the voice “bloopers” from W:ET instead. I know that there are some for Halo. If you go to bungie’s site you can download them there. But just to watch the voice actors saying, “Attack!” or “Re,re,re Revivie Me!” would be a gas…
I would like to see though how they got certain voice actors to say the VO’s as they are today.
The German “Ataaaaack” comes to mind. I seriously wonder if the recording of that sound needed any pitch forks.
