Having played the game competitively, albeit for a short period of time, hip-firing is very easily controllable and favorable in close/mid range fights. Not to mention the IS bug that has been effectively abused for months now (IS accuracy whilst running and shooting from hip).

Fun fact, I was randomly specing the pug last night going from players to players and I was really suprise while specing you cause I noticed that you were using Iron sight in pretty much every situations. So I am not convinced by what you said.

Me neither because I play BF3 and hipfire there is pure spray&pray. Best way is to use IS everywhere, on every distance. I prefer my BF3 guns with Reflect Crosshair, it gives the best performance for me :smiley:

the reason is that its with the most weapons currently the only way to hit smth or win an fight .
remove IS or let it only be a zoom in!!!

if there will be no use for hipfire im out of this game(im SD fan but this would be the point where i would leave )

I dont see the beef many see here. Hipfire is the choice for short/medium range, can be used on long range too. IS is best solution for med/long range. I dont see any advantage in using IS in close combat. The punishement you get (FoV, reduced speed) is a killer for using IS in close combat.

Just leave IS as it is now, it’s imo good.

i think IS should primarily be for long range. very much dislike IS being a must at medium range. (you know how short short range is?)
to have to go through a hampering transition animation each time i’m going to shoot at someone? no thanks.

yeah thats why i say put on the weapons a zoom like in quakewars and all is fine.
you will mostly still use it on maps like camden on very long distance

Even better for me, but I highly doubt it’s going to happen cause in SD’s mind if there is no real IS, bf and cod players won’t play it.
Making it the best option for long range only - very clearly - should be at least a good compromise.

well we all know that cod players play only cod because everyone is playing it they never move away.
for me its clear that SD shouldnt try to copy cod and BF3 ,because in the end this games have the much bigger ressources,look an BF3 you cant visual reach this as small company
they should try get players which playing games like quake ,UT,…

Sure it does. But why does it bother you that someone who uses IS is slowed down? You are not forced to use it :wink:

I dont see the prob with the spead, I see the root of the problem is the movement system. But I can perfectly live with the ETQW IS system.
I just dont agree in removing IS completly :wink:

I agree, but saying that playing without IS is a viable option just isn’t true.

EDIT: Maybe it’s viable, but IS gives an advantage*

I’ve not noticed myself being forced to use IS except on really long distances or if an enemy is hiding behind a box leaving only the sholders and up visible.

simply try it with different weapons,the assault weapons are the only weapons with which you can hit smth on medium range.

there are still other reasons ,like thanks to no spread on IS ,the heavy mg feels …its like a pistol with the dmg it does

Uhm, I have. All guns except the shotgun and the SMGs are fine by me, the only situations I find myself using IS are stated above. I don’t mind the SMGs being more inaccurate on long rages (think T-Rats new one), it’s quite the beast but yes; you have to use the IS with it on longer ranges, which I don’t find weird or disturbing.

and we could close this epic theme on a simply way,SD should let us try the other way

That’s alright :slight_smile: As said, was my first actual game yesterday and I was toying around with things as I was trying to get used to them, I do believe I was focusing a lot on IS for a short while on defense, to get a feel for it and see if it is a necessity after all, I had even asked on TS if there was any point to using IS - at all. Other than that I recall hip-firing for the majority of the game.
