question about type of classes

(hellspawn7) #1

My question is can you have say a Heavy operative?
I heard some about this but I’m more or less interested if you could.

Any body type can be any class. You can change classes in-game also. As of now, body types are permanent per character. If you wanted to change body types in game, you would have to change to a whole new character.

makes sense thanx.
I can’t wait to be a heavy medic or anything for that matter.

(Nail) #4

Heavies move slower, not sure I’d like a slow medic.

I’m starting to think about heavy engi (or w/e it’s called)

(signofzeta) #5

to know if a fixed body type will work or not, check out battlefield heroes. The movement of that game and its 3 fixed classes should give a rough example.

One of the guys here pretty much specializes in being a Heavy Medic, and he’s really quite good with it… I tried it and was terrible, I need my speed!

every skilled medic is slooow.
cause mistakes/panic cost TOO much.
even in field/combat medicine
be slow, be useful, save lives, save games, save World finally, thats IT !! :stuck_out_tongue:

He’ll be able to heal more in less time though. So the heavy medic needs to focus on quantity heals, the overall state of the team, the light medics are there for keeping key players up and emergency revives.

I think we might be seeing the objective classes using light bodies for the objectives that don’t require you to stand in one place (hack obj) and heavy types for those that require you to sit still for a certain period of time (bomb, construct). Stationary classes will probably be heavies and those doing the flanking using lights. Depending on how the revive works, I would think that a light/normal would work best for medics. I am curious as to how this whole thing will play out though. Assuming you won’t be able to switch body types mid-game?

(tokamak) #10

Keep in mind that heavies will have better proefficiency, it’s not just big guns.

(H0RSE) #11

It’s all about playstyle. A light medic is more likely to stay out of harms way, dish out some health when needed and make quick revive runs, whereas a Heavy medic can soak up a lot more damage and dish out a lot more health. He may be slower, but he also won’t need to run and hide as much as a light medic, so he can be in the thick of it, and just revive as they fall. He could also act as a meat-shield for players doing objectives, dropping medkits and able to revive if they die. Plus the whole, “he can carry minigun thing.”

(INF3RN0) #12

Yea, I am thinking in terms of HP and possibly special defensive items like the shield etc.

(hellspawn7) #13

I just want to be able too heal 'n kill at the same time because most medics are some what worthless and nobody uses them.

(Lequis) #14

Dude, I just realized the most amazing thing. What if Heavies could transfer pips to Light body types (or vice versa if anyone cared). That would be amazing because a heavy medic does suck at getting the goods to people, but light can’t carry anything.

(hellspawn7) #15

everybody saying heavies are slow I understand that and don’t doubt it but we have yet to even see them in play or the medics for that matter, also yes it would be interesting if you could use pips that way but what happens to more damage, heath and ammo that they originally give?

(hellspawn7) #16

I just thought of this what if you could get 3 pips and could buff the entire team with them that would be crazy as hell + the weight pips just for fun I could only wish.

(INF3RN0) #17

Anyone else wondering if body types will affect the extent of areas you can reach with SMART?

(DarkangelUK) #18

We know it does…

(INF3RN0) #19

Oh, I only heard the part about how it affects speed. Just didn’t know if a heavy wouldn’t be able to climb something that a light could.

(H0RSE) #20

Lights can jump higher, I’m pretty sure.
