I was just wondering if the levels were based upon what was going to be the single player levels, which were not released. In RTCW, the multiplayer maps were much like the single player levels, save for a few.
Question about the multiplayer campaigns...
From what I heard, you’d basically be playing “missions” and have control over your AI teammates. So you’d have covert ops, field ops, and whatnot. I’m guessing the closest parrallel would be playing the multiplayer maps with AI controlled teammates and enemies, but you could give orders to your teammates.

Ok, maybe I am not being very clear… I was wondering if the multiplayer maps were based on some of the single player levels that were axed by Activision. For example, in RTCW, mp_village, mp_sub, mp_assault, mp_base, mp_destruction, mp_castle, mp_dam, mp_chateau were based on the correlating single player level in the game. I was hoping that I could get some clarification from the guys at Splash Damage themselves.
I really ask this question because I was wondering if there were some beta designs for more multiplayer levels that Splash Damage was working on before it was decided that Enemy Territory single player would not be a profitable retail project. If there were some beta designs lying around, perhaps Splash Damage could release them to some of our more gifted mappers in the community to finish and tidy up… I seem to remember seeing screenshots from a crypt/underground dungeon type level, as well as a city raid level… I’m sure there are many single player maps that were meticulously planned out, and could be made into great multiplayer levels. However, Splash Damage is working on Doom 3 multiplayer, and the designs are locked away in Activisions vault. For shame.
