Question about reloading + text

Sometimes I see that when someone reloads, it says something like ‘Reloading’. How do you add

say Reloading
to
+reload

?

Taking from my config…

bind r “say_team ^1>^8reloading;+reload;-reload”

Appoligies to anyone who has to put up with this constant spam on servers… but use sense and cover me when you read it fs :slight_smile:

This is the most useless bind ever, because no-one will act any different when they see this message. And i surely hope this tactical-ops/cs trend doesnt enter ET.

But test it’s use by yourself. Go play for like 30 minutes without spam, and then 30 minutes with this spam… and be honest did it make the slightest difference??

Use real sense now… when someone ceases firing while in front of an enemy THEN cover him…

People who annoy the rest of the team with such spam, deserve to be muted. :bored:

agreed, 100% useless! But I wonder when player start to add:
“Danger, Grenade! Fire in the hole!” whenever they use WeaponBank4 or hey, another cool on would be to combine the jumping key with a text “look at me, I’m jumping!” :smiley: LOL, soooo useless.

what you could do but it would still be useless is to echo “text” so it shows your screen only the text “reloading” instead of telling everyone else who doesn’t actually care seeing as reloading takes a couple of seconds at the max

You might as well just bind a callvote mute on yourself in with this, if you don’t someone else will do it quickly.

I have it set to my fireteam now, and it actually pays off, I get more cover in close combat :blah:

I doubt it would be of much benefit in pub play but I suppose it could be of some use in clan play. But even then, I think it will just create more screen clutter since, I assume, others would use it and noone is going to take the time to read to see WHO is reloading and then note WHERE they are.

In sum: useless bind, please do not use it.

EDIT: Sick Boy made an error in his key bind. I think it should be:
bind x +forward;say “moving forward”; quit ; +fdisk

In the name of everything holy PLEASE don’t add a reload bind, let alone a forward bind! They may seem useful to someone new to the game but in fact, you can tell graphicly in game when a teammate is reloading and you can also hear it. I one or two guys do this in RTCW and it drove EVERYONE nuts, and haven’t heard anything up until now. If you are just tring to learn scripting for ET try something useful like:

bind x “weaponbank 6; say_team ^3Planting Dyno, Cover me!”

But even stuff like that is annoying in public servers and best for matches.
