Oh it runs doom 3 and quake 4 in high quality alright. What I don’t get is that sometimes the framrate was high and then when I load the game again a few months later, the framerate decreases a bit. Does the videocard start to “lose some stuff” as it gets older?
And by decreasing the video quality to medium from high, how much frames per second will increase? Alot that it could make gameplay better, or too little that it would still be choppy/slideshow?
I ran Doom 3 quake 4 and prey and gameplay was smooth enough that I don’t consider it choppy. There are some parts of the game where it does get choppy, but it sometimes happens and it sometime does not. It is unnoticable.
Let’s say the game stutters a bit from choppiness. I mean stutters rarely. Now if I reduce video quality to medium, will it stop being choppy? If I reduce it to low, will the gameplay be completely smooth?
The default video quality for all 3 games is high quality. In my laptop with doom3 that can’t run quake 4 is low, but my desktop is high for all 3 games.
I’m afraid that it willl be choppy at even low quality. I just want the game playable. Although I like the graphics, I’d wait for that and focus on if the game will run smoothly first before anything else.
