Quake wars Open beta ???

The Quake wars closed beta was released recently. I Heard there is an ‘open beta’ that is going to be released, to the public at the end of May, for 60,000 people. Is this true? Does anyone know where i can sign up for it ? :slight_smile:

Tell the one who told you this that he should tell the one who told it him that it was just a rumor. FilePlanet once claimed that they would host an open beta, but they couldn’t keep their “promise”.

Until further notice, the game release date remains “when it’s done”. And since the “demo” version will be released shortly before the game’s release, there is no news on that as well.

Please be patient. Grab a seat, and have some tea and biscuits. After that, enjoy the tapirs passing by.

I don’t have a problem with SD sticking to the “when it’s done” bandwagon, but I do hope they give us a few weeks notice, so those of us with real jobs can schedule some time off when it’s released.
I’m not too worried, I’m sure either them or Activision will have a set date once they have their gold master, so it should all work out in the end.

As far as a beta/demo/release goes, no information is available at the moment. You’ll know it when there is.

I just hope that the fact the demo isn’t annouced yet doesn’t mean the game is going to be delayed again…

hmm the release date has been set to 6th June… hmm good time playing it in the summer.

“When it’s done IS a delay” For every nanosecond that the release date is still “when it’s done”, the game will be delayed. They just say “When it’s done” just so they can take their sweet time and not have to worry to get it done right and finished at a certain time.

Only 5 months left before the game is officially delayed. Activision said spring/summer release. Past September 23, game is delayed.

ya. Actually, the number of times ETQW is delayed depends on person, for me it is like that. For you, it may not have even been delayed a bit.

Delay = every time I get irritated.

Every time I spill coffee on my beautiful white shirt (I don’t really drink coffee, nor have a beautiful white shirt), the game will be delayed a very long time.

The weapons are set in stone right? And no extra weapons will be added at the last minute, or is it the last minute…

I wonder how long the game has been delayed in Locki’s perspective. Check the community forums to find out. (it’s under the thread “confirmation from the man himself”. It is buried in the second or third or maybe 4th page).

Hopefully they dont waste time on a demo until after the release of the game. Get the game out as soon as something thats ready…
