I been following Quake Wars for a long time now, Im so excited that its all coming near. I have a PC and without knowing the specs that this game will support, I can safely assume I can support the game on my PC. Heres my problem, I also have and love my xbox 360. I will get it for the PC but if they do decide to bring it out for the 360 I will buy that too. Do you think thats a waste or what? Also do you think it has a good chance of coming to the 360? To be honest Alot of console users of tired of getting titles like battlefield 2 modern crap combat That game sucks. Quake Wars is where it is at.
Quake wars and the xbox 360
There is a good chance that ET:QW comes to XboX360. Some mags say it will come out, some say it doesn’t come out on Xbox360. Still I would say wasting unless you play much on XboX360. But remember that nothing will beat the good old keyboard+mouse in fps!
True. I think I will buy both just so I can own it for the 360 as well.
Mouse + keyboard adapters will be plentiful in the realm of X-box-ing.

Well with my 360 I can already use mouse and Keyboard since it supports usb
I sense an unfair advantage over my friends if it does come out for the 360 LOL
With keyboard and mouse support on consoles the FPS game will finaly be interresting.
(FPS with a controller sux)
greetz W2E
I think it will too. Im also curious to how quake wars will look on my 48 inch HDTV thats if it comes out for the 360.
don’t lol too soon. all you can do with your mouse and keyboard on the 360 is type in you nick. that’s it, nothing more.
i do hope it will never be released for the 360 as playing an fps with a console controller sucks.
i vote for Quake Wars for the Nintendo Revolution!!!
If this comes out on 360, it’s a must-buy. If it’s PC-only, I’ll consider it.
As for the guy who hopes it never comes out for 360 - gee, it must suck to know that there’s people out there who enjoy things other than what you like. What harm does it do to you if they make a console version and sell a boatload?
Well his problem is probably that 99% of games that are developed for the console along with the PC - suck on the PC. So many design decisions have to be made for the console before the PC, so you end up with crap like Oblivion with super large UI’s and not being able to bind M to map for example which on a PC game is simply stupid.
It’s easy to spot a ported or dual-developed game by crappy controls restrained by the X buttons on a console controller and other things, but impossible to spot a PC game ported to a console. If they port QW to 360 then I’m all for it, but if they start dual developing then I’m totally against it.
After Oblivion I’m done buying dual developed games, and I’m guessing the guy above has similar gripes about consoles ruining PC games.
Actually I think it all depends on the developer. Of course there are many out to maximise profits with direct ports to each platforms. You can’t blame them, profits are the bottomline of everything.
But a good developer would cater to more carefully to each platform. Like how GRAW is going to be slightly different for the X360 and PC versions.
That said, I simply cannot understand why anyone would like to play a serious FPS on consoles… Have you guys tried CoD2 on the X360? The movement and aim is horrendous, though granted I was never a console person…
They usually say it’s the HD widescreen tv, and being comfortable, but I’m with you; I dont know why you would want to play a fps on a console.
The sheer number of keys and precision of a mouse cant be beat by a controller. I know from experience that playing on a big TV gets interrupted- when someone else in the house wants to watch something, you get downgraded to that 9 inch black and white TV from 1867
I carried a N64 with me for years, and would have Goldeneye games all over which was cool, and I guess there is a bit of game loyalty there… if Goldeneye went the way of Halo and put out sequels and online play, I might have stayed it with it for quite a while and defended consoles on forums.

there are a few great fps out for consoles imo particualry killzone but the one thing that get me frustrated when playing is the controls no matter how good a contol setup ther is you just cant beat a mouse for aim. your aim is your eye into the world and easy movment alling you to look around etc makes everyhting seem to much more like your there. controlers feel much more like im trying to force my character though the game

There’s reasons. Someone already pointed out the HDTV and surround sound system - sure, I could haul my PC out to my living room, but that’d suck having to cart it around every time I want to switch from Half-Life to Visual Studio. Another big one is multiplayer - none of my friends have gaming PCs, but a few of them own an Xbox, and the rest of them can just pile in front of the TV with a controller in hand. Then there’s some people who actually prefer a controller - yeah, a mouse gives me kickass aiming control, but using a controller doesn’t make my tendons feel like they’ve been soaked in battery acid and lit on fire. (They hurt like hell at the moment, which is why I’m doing a little forum browsing instead of that programming project I wanted to work on tonight.)
I still enjoy PC games, and understand why you guys do too. However, with all the advantages for me, it’s going to take a lot to pry me away from my Xbox 360, and if Splash Damage makes a great game and decides to bring it to my platform of choice, then I’ll look forward to playing it.
reading the combination M$ and games makes me shudder to think about playing games after they have recently bought an ingame advertising company
imagine the following: clanwar, everyone’s adrenaline is high, then suddenly in the middle of the heaviest fight: pause … a popup comes up showing some sprite commercial … after 10 secs the game continues …
or in the middle of the game srolls a message from right to left: download the game sound on your mobile phone … 3 for EUR 2.99.
Sex in Video Games: YES! Commercials in Video Games: NO!
QW on 360? you couldn’t even connect to a private server, so you always would have to go through M$ xbox live which btw sucks. and as far as i’ve heard they’re trying to make xbox live gold for free … with commercials. speaking of xbox live: try to download an mp demo for 360 and connect to a server. it’s a horror. i do hope that sony won’t follow the bad M$ example.
Remember when developing for the xbox360 the sky is the limit on the PC the limits the sky.
I’ll be dissapointed to find out it will be developed for both the pc and 360.
