QUake Wars, And QUAKE 4?

(BloodyCreep) #1

Will Quake Wars be any way Reduced price for QUAKE 4 People?

This will be the Deciding factor to buy QUAKE 4 or wait for Star Wars Battlefront 2.

(Ifurita) #2

And why would it be reduced?

(BloodyCreep) #3

Wasnt it supposed to be the QUAKE 4 multiplayer?

(Ifurita) #4

Nope. Completely different game, though similar universe and different time. The Q4 SP campaign takes place post Q2. QuakeWars is set during the Strogg invasion of Earth, so before the events of Q2/Q4, I believe.

lol, this one is even better than the usual “ET was free, so QW has to be free as well” and “QW is MP only, so it has to cost less”

i wait for one who says “i’ve played the free ET for 2 years, so will QW be free for hardcore gamers as they are the ones who fill the servers …”

dude, you totally set your priorities wrong  if you like Q4, then buy and play Q4. if you like SWBF2, then buy and play SWBF2

They are 2 seperate games, I seriously doubt it. I wouldn’t say no though!

(Ragnar_40k) #7

ET:QW will be free for all who posted more than 10000 useful posts in this forum … :moo:

(BloodyCreep) #8

Guess im not buying QUAKE 4 than.

question is more: should you buy star wars battlefront 2? dude, have you played the first version of the game? my opinion: this game simply sucks and is no fun at all. if the game wouldn’t be in the star wars universe, it would already have vanished like soldner did. don’t know about the 2nd part though, i don’t even want to try it. screenshots look good as usual, but question is how the game plays.

ever since ET was released imo no better multiplayer game has come out. not even doom 3, nor quake 4. quake 4 is good, but it is no daily long-term fun meaning that you probably won’t play it more than an hour a day. but it’s fun for multiplay quickies, real fun. hadn’t so much fun since ET, but i miss some features like the vsays in the game. these are the little pieces that make ET unique.

seriously, if you don’t know what to buy, wait for a demo of both games. might be that you don’t like either of them and chose another one. unfortunately it seems most developing companies focus too much on graphics instead on gameplay. good game designers seem to be hard to find lately, and so are ideas for new games. best example is doom 3: ok, it was “doom” but who cares about what was some years ago, people have changed and they want more. so the doom 3 multiplayer was already dead in the moment it was released. it would have been better if id never released it and focused more on the SP story instead of having this stupid “this switch opens that” gameplay. in that matter i don’t think that the “when it’s done” policy is productive. i think a public beta version would have seriously changed id’s mind. who cares about a 4 player max multiplayer game nowadays? oops, i’m going OT

who cares about a 4 player max multiplayer game

get the patch

(Xanhast) #11

ET:QW and Q4 are made by different developers…

amirite?

(carnage) #12

v41

(zeh) #13

So if ET:QW should be free, and you get a reduced price if you already bought Q4, then if you buy Q4 do you get some money given to you when they release ET:QW?

Makes sense to me. Count me in.

(eq-Shrike) #14

Q4 = Developed by Raven
ET:QW = Developed by Bidgedamage

Both are standalone games. Just because they are both based on the Q4 (Doom3) engine it doesn’t mean that there should be any discount for one when buying the other.

Like someone else said in the thread above … if you like the games buy them.

(amazinglarry) #15

So wait… what I wanna know is, since I’ve played the free ET for 2 years, will QW be free for hardcore gamers like me? As we’re the ones who fill the servers … it’s only fair imo

(Ragnar_40k) #16

Only if you can prove that you played each single day since the demo for at least one hour.

(Cerebrate) #17

Sometimes I wonder where the hell people get their information from. Their own imagination probably. Those who are hardcore enough won’t gripe instead of paying full price for a good game.

(zeh) #18

Same here. I’ve seen misinformed people, but honestly, many ET players seem to be the minsiformed of the misinformed. And they still are quite sure about their own opinions (ie, “qw will be free”). Makes you wonder what the hell is going on with some people.

Does my end-of-round stats work as proof?

Does my end-of-round stats work as proof?[/quote]

No, only demos+screenshots+isp log+written confirmation by all server admins. :moo:
