Quake 2 Remix?!

According to Computer and Video Games the next game based on the Doom 3 engine is a Quake 2 Remix.
But what I would like to see is an ET-Remix (as full priced game) - maybe an ET2 .

Man that would rule. They’re doing Q2 because they don’t need to design a game, just port it into the new engine. But how many people play Quake 2 nowdays? You’re right it should be an ET Remix

I still play quake 2…does that make me a sad person? the chances are they WILL make an ET 2. Or a sci-fi game. I think its prolly gonna be a big SP thing…mebee!

…The next game based on the DOOM III engine, which uses a far superior physics,collision detection (CDPM), and particle engine, developed by splashdamage would have a cool SP and MP with a nice Sci-fi theme or think about cooperative SP? ofcourse you all have to wait after DOOM III has been released before screenshots are appearing on this forum errr i ment the net

Carmack revealed that he and id thought about, and then dropped, a plan to revisit Quake II, remaking the same exact game but use an all new graphics engine as a way to show off the engine without having to concentrate on game development.

Nuff said ere.

However, he also said there is still room for a small team to create games that can have mass appeal and be successful, like teams who make web based or small downloadable titles.

Probs said it, remember about ET and thought hrms… :]

Cant see there being an ET2. A similar gametype in future games possibly but not a proper ET2 release… just imho.
