Q3F...I still love it xD

Hello,

I was just wondering (and i know this will sound corny)…Will Q3F ever get released as a stand alone game? I mean, this game is absolutely fabulous and seriously the best mod i’ve ever played. I hope it will be e free standalone game someday, because it totally owns and i bet people will massievly download it. It’s such a shame that the game is down and no1 who owns Q3 Plays it anymore. I think its a shame to let this game go to waste. I seriously have spend some quality time playing this game in the past.

Well, Cheers mates :drink:

You could / should take a look at ET-Fortress.
A Fortress mod for the free available ET.
Not sure but I think it’s also not played that much.

Q. What is ETF?
A. ETF is a port of the mod Q3F for Quake 3 Arena and is based off the Team Fortress concept. 10 unique classes and a ton of very cool weapons along with some killer maps make up ETF. The game will offer many game types like CTF, Reverse CTF, Single Flag, Capture & Hold, Assault, King of the Hill and Duel.

You could always try out TF2 when that’s released with HL2: EP2 later this year. How similar that will be to Q3F is of course still up for debate though.

Will TF2 be on the PC?

TF2 is going to be released? No way.
Says who and where?
Not that it’s going to matter, compared to ET.

But that’s where I cut my teeth on team-based online FPS (the first HL:TF). TF2 is a GREAT example of how someone had dropped a ball on what should have been a great game and a moneymaker.

Edit:
OK. Nevermind, I see that it seems that it is official.
I might just have to get TF2 to sassify my flamethrower urge.

there’s a video introducing the TF2 classes here
or can download it at the usual download places

Lmfao, most of the classes look awful except for the sniper and the engy. Rofl, sniper looks like Clint Eastwood imo.

I like the artistic direction they have chosen for TF2, it looks like the classes are taken from a Pixar movie or something and I think it fits TF2 just fine.

Me too. Reminds me of the quirky style the models had back in QuakeWorld TF. I’m not holding up much hope for the game itself, though - I’m kind of stuck in my ways after all these years. TF to me is about the movement and weapons as much as the classes and teamplay, and I hate TFC’s treatment of both. I’m sure the maps will be great though; that’s the one area TFC really improves on the original.

Some skills transfer from Q3F to W:ET. For example I occasionally amaze people with my handgrenade skills.

The classes on this new TF2 were nailed very well. I love them all, except maybe just for the soldier… maybe.

A good, refreshing surprise. Now to see how will gameplay actually be…
