Here’s a simple one: Does the entire team get a nice healthy XP award for winning a map?
You would expect the answer to be yes since that’s kind of what all the other XP awards are buildimg up to, playing as a team to win, and so the win should give a nice big boost as well as the ultimate incentive.
Yes. Actually, the losing team gets a finishing bonus as well, as a reward for not being jerks and disconnecting early. But the winner takes the bigger bonus, of course.

That would be a very perverse way to progress you character. I sure hope not.
Thanks for the questions so far guys but we still want more, what do ya need to know? I’ll be submitting the Q&A in the next few weeks, so you got a little time to think of some.
Cheers
I would like to know if you can use your xbox controller on the pc version of the game, and if you do, does it handle the same as on a real xbox. (Like aim assist or anything similar if there is any)
And possibly search for “Xbox controller only” servers?
(Because maybe sometimes I’d like to play brink casually on the couch with the pc in my livingroom connected to the TV, instead of actually playing it at my desktop [and then without the hassle of actually buying a seperate xbox for this game].)
PS: I know you can play it on an xbox controller, but they might strip that functionality out in the final product.
Is there a clantab in BRINK?
Like in etqw you had a buddylist and a clanlist, is there a similar feature in BRINK, and does it maybe have some more functions?
I keep hearing that currently the level cap is 20 and the total number of abilities is 50. As you continue to test and balance the game, is it likely that this will be the final numbers?
I recently found out that the number of passive abilities you can select at one time is determined by your character’s level. Could you elaborate more on this?
Are the spots where you can add attachments, the same for each weapon (ironsight, barrel, grip, magazine) and if not, does each weapon have the same number of spots to add attachments?
Do any weapons have unique attachments that only that weapon type can have?
We heard Operatives can spot disguised enemy Operatives. Will they also be able to notify the team of enemies that are disguised, or maybe “mark” them, so teammates know who to look out for? Also, is spotting (mines and Operatives) a default ability or does it have to be purchased?
We know Heavies have the most health and Light’s have the least, but how big is the gap between the two? For instance, it was mentioned that a knife attack can kill an unbuffed Light. If the same attack was performed on an unbuffed Heavy, how much life would he be left with?
Can you save character loadouts (appearance, abilities, weapons/mods) for later use so you can easily swap between ones that you like?
I recently found out that the number of passive abilities your character can have is determined by his level. Could you elaborate more on this, like what’s the [current] total number a character can have or how many levels are required to increase the number, etc.?
It was revealed that Challenges will be tied to leaderboards that players can compete on. Are these leaderborads strictly tied to Challenges, or has SD decided to implement global leaderboards all around?
-Is Brink going to be SD’s new flagship game, or do they plan on their next title to be something other than a sequel
(obviously based off of this game’s success). And will future support come in the form of patches, DLC, or both?
-Will all platforms receive an equal priority for support?
-Will this game require a CD to play, or will it be a one-time install deal?
-Will all perks have an equal incentive for usage, or are some going to be more appealing/essential than others (meaning some only are worthwhile to specific situations)? Is there any learning curve for any perks as well?
-Will a demo replay feature fit into the new release schedule?
-Will there be multi-context binding?
-Can we get any details on how long it takes to kill people with different weapons, damage counter explanation, including scenarios where players are buffed and using perks?
-Will SMART be used heavily in close combat firefights, or does it implore a penalty on your weapon spread?
Doubt very much there’ll be a requirement to have a CD in to play on PC being as it’s a Steam game.
The latter does not exclude the former. Would there be no spread on SMART movement then it would be the only viable thing to do in close quarter shooting.
You’re actually asking “Will people be obliged to use SMART heavily in close combat firefights or does it implore a penalty on your weapon spread”
Can you pick up weapons and ammo from fallen teammates/enemies?
Can you pick up a thrown grenade and throw it back?
-Can you rename your weapon like in TF² ?
-Can you paint some outfit too? Is there a pink color? Custom textures too?
We know that mediums and heavies can carry the bigger guns. Will certain attachments or attachments in general add weight so that a gun with a ton of additions will be too heavy to use?
We know the comparability in SMART usage between light/medium/heavy. What about movement speed? Could we get percents? Say medium is average 100%, Light is faster 120% and heavy 80%, or something like that?
We know the GL is a heavy weapon is it also an attachment? I have heard some claim it is.
How tweakable will the game be? Will it be similar to ET:QW and ET where you can performance tweak it for low end PC’s or will it require us to go and buy the latest hardware?
You mentioned how you made the game and maps focuse on 8on8 gameplay, but will the maps work well for 5on5/6on6 as well for e.g. LAN events?
How much damage will the different body types be able to take and will e.g. the heavy body type be able to function as some sort of tank that can take loads of damage?
Will the deployable machineguns have a time limit on them or will stay on the map until someone destroys them and if so, in how many ways will it be possible to destroy them?
How accurate will the deployable machineguns be and how much damage will they give? Have they been tested properly to make sure they are not overpowered?
