Purefrag map

Hey guys,

im trying to get purefrag.pk3 working on my server. It works perfectly even way-points for the bots, but the problem im facing is that the map lasts for 60 minutes and the respawntime is 12 seconds. I tried to edit this map, by unzipping pk3 map and change the maplength and respawntime, and then packed it into a pk3 file again. But then the map isn’t working at all anymore.
Do you guys have any idea what I am doing wrong? Cause I just want to change the length and the respawntime for this map, without messing with the others.
I looked in the forum, but couldn’t find related topic, thats why I made a new one.

Don’t edit pk3… Which mod are you using? In the most popular mods there are mapconfigs and mapscripts, use one of them.

I am using jaymod 2.2.0 on my server.
Ok i’ll try to find it in the mapconfig and/or mapscripts. I’ll post progression here.

Edit:

i cant find a mapscript in my folders. so how do i do this? Need to download one or make one myself?

Do you run a mod supporting etpromapscripting feature ? If you have jaymod, nq, etpub, etpro, you can just do it the following way (using etpromapscripting feature):

  1. take purefrag.pk3, unpack it, and go to maps/purefrag.script, open it
  2. change the timelimits
wm_axis_respawntime        12
        wm_allied_respawntime       12
        wm_set_round_timelimit      60
  1. close, save, and put it into the mapscripting folder of your mod (not in the map again)

If you have no clue how to set up the mapscripting folder, you could consult the docs of your mod.

Thnx allot NM this worked for the maplength. I assume what the respawntime isn’t working like i wanted because I putted it into my jaymod.cfg to be 8? If I remove this in the jaymod.cfg it will automatically take the one from the mapscript?

Or you edit the .script and put it in mapscripts, or you make a custom config for this map and put it in mapconfigs. :slight_smile:

It could be that some jaymod settings override the ones in the mapscript folder, yes. Changing respawntime of that map normally should work as well. I see no reason why not.

Maybe reset the respawntime cvar of jaymod.cfg, then try again, if [NM] is right? The value 0 reset it, “” did not reset when I tried it 2 years ago.

I will check this out guys. Even though it will work or not thanks allot. The maplength was the biggest issue here for me :slight_smile:

mapconfigs is 100% easier. mapconfigs will also override jaymod.cfg settings.

just make a default.cfg with default settings
then for this map make a purefrag.cfg and put the map specific settings in there…
