Could be the server admin hasn’t updated THEIR pb.

Or go to www.evenbalance.com and download a program called pbweb.exe for Enemy territory.
Place this program inside your punkbuster folder then double click it to run it.
Your client side pb will now be updated to the latest version.

Current version is v1.062 A1326

Punkbuster is nothing to do with the 1.02 patch, follow the advice Exp Maximus has given to update punkbuster.

So after a full map rotation you lose your XP? is it not supposed to be like that? otherwise the XP would never reset

I was getting the same thing this weekend, it turns out to be one of two things:

  1. You are out of date on PB. In which case, browse to the folder where you installed ET, go to the ‘pb’ folder underneath it, and run the program in there called ‘pbweb’. This will update you to the latest PB version.
  2. The server has an older version of PB than you do. In which case, when you fire up ET, before connecting to a server, open the console (usually tilde ~ key), and type “/pb_security 0” (without the quotes). This will allow PB to run on a server with an out of date version. You will still get the warning a couple of times, but you won’t be disconnected.

Personally, I ran into this on the Terminal Insanity servers (thanks guys, I love your servers), I’m hoping they do the update soon so that I don’t have to remember to do the /pb_security 0 every time I fire up ET.

you don’t need to download it you get it when you install the game it is in your main E.T. map and then pb there should pbweb.exe be run it and wait it ussually takes a while

Follow this advice. I’ve had to use pbweb.exe twice in the last few months to upgrade myself to the latest version.
