Punkbuster kick

Hello,

I haven’t played in a while and since the last time I have new internet service/hardware/config and a new computer. I’m running Windows 7 64 bit through GTX460M card/i7 cpu. And the game is slow to load when I launch. I’m getting “Corrupted Packet Flow” kicks on several servers. Although I played once earlier today for about 5 minutes with no problems. I have tried changing compatibility with no success.

Anybody have any ideas what my problem may be? Thanks.

My friend had a similar issue after not playing for a year or so. Solution for him was to uninstall punkbuster and then download the latest version off evenbalance.com.

Do realise that Punkbuster is not very easy to uninstall, it’ll probably take a registry cleaner to get rid of everything. My friend had deleted everything he could find and still the installer said punkbuster was already up to date. Punkbuster is malware after all.

Yeah I used pbsetup. I actually saw it clean out the old registry files and update for ETQW. Then I installed WolfET and I get “inadequate o/s priveledges” kicks. Ugh. What the heck is that?

I can play Red Orchestra though! I’ll try COD next. I think it uses PB.

Your Punkbuster is ok. The problem is Microsoft Security Essentials.

You have to disable “Real Time Protection” while playing, this is what is blocking PB.

I owe you a beer! Thanks man! I also had to mess with the firewall for some reason but all is good.

If you don’t want to turn of Real Time Protection, you can add PnkBstrA.exe and PnkbstrB.exe to the excluded services in MSE. That’s what I did, runs fine now.
