Punkbuster error

Hi,
I’m trying to get back to ETQW after a long time absence. Problem is, as soon as I log to a server, I get an error saying punkbuster must be enabled.
It is. I had it update itself. Doesn’t help.
I don’t know if its related but my OS is Win764bit.

Not sure if it helps in your case, but:

Various Punkbuster problems can be fixed by disabling the “realtime protection” in Microsoft Security Essentials. Try if it works.

Also,
net_clientPunkbusterEnabled 1
in autoexec might force it to be enabled, maybe it is not despite saying so.

Is your ET:QW updated to the last patch?(1.5)

Thanks. That solved it, but I’m not so happy about shutting down MSE.

You can disable only during play… that’s how i do it. It’s not like your PC immediately explodes without realtime scanning.
