Punishment for excessive language/negative behaviour

Well, im used to little kids and stuff like insulting/teabagging, but today i was shocked what some of the younger generation put into display in terms of behaviour towards pretty much everyone else.

He (level 48) was excessive cursing/insulting first me for the simple reason of killing him, then i replied sarcastic as usual and agreed to everything he said more or less and replied that his wisdom sure is endless bla bla… . Just the usual making fun of little aggressive kids to amuse myself a little.

However, after a while he started saying the same stuff to pretty much everyone who was writing something in chat and it ended that whenever someone wrote or later on even not wrote in chat, he would instantly insult them in caps with any kind of insult which his little brain did contain. It went pretty repetitive after a while, not surprising, but for what the quality couldnt do the quantity would compensate… .

After several kick votes not managing to dispose of him and even after i muted him the next game before the game even starts and inside the lobby, he would already write atleast 4 sentences in caps where he expressed his wisdom of other people parents relationship or who the other players mouth should start a “relationship” with… .

Since this forum has a no shame policy, i wont post his name or his writings because im too dizzy for this at the moment.

TL:DR: Can we get a (harsh) punishment for those who are excessivly show bad behaviour?

Ya idk wtf is wrong with some people. I just played a game and we were winning then this late joiner comes in and starting swearing and complaining… sigh Damn we should be complaining, they were putting their healing stations in useless places and stuff

@Yoma I think what he means is that you shouldn’t respond to them and let them be stupid. If they don’t get reaction they’ll feel stupid might stop, unless they are super thick skinned.

It’s hard to define ‘bad behaviour’ though. What is bad to some is a joke to other etc. But in this case it’s definitely bad

Personally, I am not offended by any of that what people say to me, but it is just annoying and I wonder more and more, why we let breed people without any restrictions. Yesterday I got “nader cnt" after I killed a guy (of course his name had a youtube chanel in it). so I killed him again and t-bagged him. His reply to that was "I am going to kill your whole family, you fcking jew”. Why did his parents have to procreate?

I really cant wait that rank takes off. So you can play 5vs5 and leave all this cess pool of public behind.

Perhaps there could be a report feature added for harassment/spam/cursing. SD could then give them a temporary mute depending on what they did.

i completely agree with this idea, yoma, and ive wanted it for a while. But the idea came back to my head 2 days ago.
Im a lv 30 (a pretty bad one), so i went to a regular server to practise some redeye (still got my ass handed to me but some lv 10’s :frowning:

Then right at the end of the match, this lv 20-something comes in, goes 1/2 and starts insulting these people for playing bad, and how they should be ashamed for being so bad.
Now at this point, i was thinking he’s quite a dick, cause its demoralising for newer players to hear that sorta stuff. But i let it slide.

Then in the next game, he insults this guy trying out vassili and tries to vote kick him out. WTF! I know that we all get annoyed by the sub-lv 10 sniper who does virtually nothing, but the solution is to guide them on how to play, not to kick them instantly. how the fuck is he meant to get better if he gets banned from the server?

So naturally, i call him out on this, then he starts using homophobic language about this guy, as if thats meant to be an insult.
At this point Im super mad cause i hate that kinda language being used, then he starts to call these low levels a fucking retard, whilst he’s try-harding with Br arty on chapel. At this point, I went to report him for language, only to remember there wasnt a function for it. We tried to vote kick him him out, by he managed to stay from 5/2 vote selection.

TL;dR
Agree completely about a report for excessive language and negative influence in a server.
I needed to vent of some steam

Those insulters/verbal diarrhea kids (age not relevant, still childish) are doing it most often to vent their frustration and gain attention. @Tom suggested automatically muting them if enough valid harrass reports would take away their ability to spew and spread their nonsense, while not entirely taking away their ability to play. This would be best kind of punishment for them imho! If they continue playing, it’d punish them rather hard, hence good, since their “megaphone” is taken away and they experience it on regular basis anytime they play. Their taken-away ability of getting attention.

I know some games where people are silenced after too much flaming. Like suggested before that would be a good solution. When every flamer gets banned , DB will lose half its player base :lol:

It’ll be good if they silenced them where they can still post messages in chat but they don’t actually send. Like they’ll see it on their side but others won’t. Except for quickchat

[right]I’d rather punish for INSUFFICIENT language. Read a 3rd grader’s English book before you start insulting people, at least you’ll be slightly eloquent in doing so.

Their "your"s and "m8"s and broken Grammar annoy me far more than any cliche prod they picked up from a 4 year old Internet video ever could.[/right]

Its daily routine to get insulted for killing others with whatever merc. The reasoning of those people is after all that everything that kills them is broken noob shit which doesnt require any skill, sometimes even if its the same merc they play… . (Yes that happened to me a few times, couldnt stop laughing.)

Well, some people will insult others even if you ignore them because they get killed frequently and people who take the game too serious and die a lot tend to use that time dead to atleast win verbally over those they cant beat practically. Its a kind of boosting his ego after getting it crushed from getting killed.

Bad behaviour is sometimes not 100% clear thats indeed true, but if someone writes stuff like e.g. “I WILL FUCK YOUR WHOLE FAMILY YOU CUNT”, its not easy to not get what he is trying to imply.

Well, with harsh punishment i meant that its something that will hurt these players what would be an mute in chat for an certain amount of days,(Ingametime might lead them to be afk) which increase everytime he continually perform these kind of things. A bann might be too drastic but if someone throws 2-4 lines a minute just containing the insulting of others, i think we’re better of without him in this game because people like this might leave an sour aftertaste to the game-expierence of others who then might quit because of the “community”.

Would love to hear an statement of the devs if anything is in planning regarding this matter.

Muting a player automatically after multiple harassment offenses sounds like a great idea. I’d also enjoy a Mute All button when I join a server so that I don’t have to listen to anyone at all and I can just play that game in bliss.
