PS3 Users - Appreciation Thread

You don’t have to chat but it allows for an invite to be sent via chat group. Then you can add players to your friends list that you have played with. You should still have a bunch of players from the night we played under ‘players met’ on the xmb.

LOL thats what happens when you stack sides… Match after match after match (literally all night)… Still not happy about that especially considering how often many others complain everytime the teams get uneven, guess its not a problem when they are the ones stacking. I mean we had people that showed up during the match but they were randoms with no mics or didnt join the fireteam.

Its all good though, I had best op and most kills that round, and we went on to shut them down the next round on the first objective with even less people (3-4vs8 and no randoms) and only I and one other had a mic on, other team was a good 6 people atleast with mics… LOL thank god for EMPs and their great effectiveness on explosive charges!

(tangoliber) #84

Its good if the offensive team is stacked. Bad if the defensive team is stacked. When we get an odd number of players, we always get the extra guy to go offense.

(punaeased) #85

I’m getting brink tomorrow add me:“punaeased” because i’ve heard the community is pretty dead and i’d much prefer to play with other people than bots.

(peteXnasty) #86

I may give this another spin with the balance changes

The game just managed to bore the **** out of me last time I played. Its been demon’s souls only since.

Lol yeh… thats why last night our team had 4 while yours had 7 or 8 for the whole match… and a few others. but I guess its not a problem when your team the one stacking
For someone who complains about it didn’t you think to change sides to make the teams even? lol

Not really a big dea for me but I always switch if the teams are uneaven as if you think about it its kinda silly going a whole match or two with like 5 vs 8, even going half the match with 4 vs 8, and im not the one who complains XD

(thesuzukimethod) #88

I had fun last night despite my lag and then a freeze that led to me calling it for the night and watching “dead man” = awesome).

re: “stacking”…5v8 is something we just have to deal with (although you can set the match settings to ‘force balance’ but given we have trouble getting full matches sometimes, it’s hard to argue for something that might make it any harder for people to find the game

I (think I) was on the night O is talking about (it wasn’t last night) when it was 2v8 for awhile. I prefer to be on the 2 in those cases, b/c rolling bots + 2 humans just isnt that fun (to me)…(but i def prefer evenly matched games!)…but if those 2 are newer players who are just getting started in the game, dont know ppl yet, etc. it can turn them off to the game.

of course, I’m committing a horrible offense against our bot friends, who I’m sure are saddened by our dismissal of their considerable contributions.

(NigelDocker) #89

It doesnt really bother me as it happens and have never cared when its happened before. But to moan about it then do exactly that is quite hypocriticle.
While I was on there wasnt a moment i noticed there being more ppl on my team otherwise I would have quite happily switched sides, if there was a moment then it wasn’t for very long like a whole match or half as I would have noticed.

(Grownugly) #90

I like being on the losing team. More room for improvement.

Sorry for deleting you, had to make room for active players, but you if still have the chats just hit them up, been getting a lot of big games goin as of late (mostly night time) and also planning some big private cross chat matches when the DLC comes out. Our community is only getting bigger and stronger.

(Oschino1907) #92

Same here, love the excitement that comes with a close win (hate the defeats though :frowning: ) when its unbalanced especially when you get pushed to the limit and barely come through in the final seconds. But where my problem comes is from getting steamrolled match after match with uneven teams, especially when its “friends” that you play with almost daily. No reason for it to go on more then 2 maybe three matches for the sake of waiting to see if more players will join in. Not to mention when repeated request to balance it out go totally ignored or when others join and pick the side that already has more people.

Oh and I guess its partly my problem that I stick around and go through it but NO MATTER HOW FRUSTRATED I GET I just cant feel right ditching the other few guys on my team working their asses off in the uneven chaos, not gonna leave my buddies hangin just cause I am not having the best time. And any of those who are on my team know I often am concerned about team balance and try to invite as much as i can to get players in and often ask players that join to switch teams by AT LEAST the next match if its still more then a 2-3man differance. Same as I often say to back off and not rape teams of randoms so that they dont get frustrated and quit, if WE are that good we dont need to spawn camp or use cheap tactics.

I get ZERO enjoyment out of unearned and easy wins… Thats why I stopped having fun in COD despite my stats saying I was better with each game… I prefer the challenge but only when its a fair one. And I look forward to some big cross chat games when the DLC drops, play some new faces and maybe pick up some good players or friends to roll with on Brink. Still a lot of us who havnt played together yet (from the chats), hopefully we all get together more often and can push each other to get BETTER and BETTER.

(NigelDocker) #93

Your also logging onto 1 chat, logging out of it and then immediately starting a game on the other chat.
Even when the games not full.
Why not just use both chats and invite ppl from both, not just invite ppl to your chat from one then log out of it and start a game in your chat only. It kinda splits the community, its not like both chats are always full, theres usually room in both.
Whats the point in logging out of one and starting a game in the other, just use both.
The chats arent rivals lol, most ppl use both like it should be, if not then for our own good ppl who dont should use both.

Now now, not saying that games don’t go uneven, but that was from three nights ago, and it was a straight 8v8.

I just wanna know where the winners got that great Medic.

Some really good Old Skool Stopwatch matches today. We did a good job of balancing the teams, and got the games really close. On the Container City game, Outkast was uploading the final objective…and got knocked down by a grenade when it was at 91%…right when the time went out. On Sec Tower, both teams almost completed it…the escort being just 20 feet away or so. I’m not even sure who got closer.

An easy way to balance, in my opinion, is whenever one side is dominating the other, switch the highest XP player with the other teams lowest XP player. (After the both rounds of stopwatch) Not that having low XP equals a bad player…but if you do that, then eventually, you will start to get balanced.

Another thing… pretty much everyone realizes that winning or losing doesn’t mean anything. The host advantage issues means that whoever starts the game is usually going to dominate everyone else. Sometimes teams get players that are beginners, which is fine. So, the point is, don’t worry about it. Don’t take winning or losing seriously…don’t get mad/frustrated…your pride is not at stake…no one will look down on you if you are on the losing team. We’ve all been there.

Exactly, who cares just keep the teams balanced n have fun, your never goingto beat a guy thats running a full second ahead of you(not just the host but due to the coding and servers, all players differ), your dead before you even pull the trigger.
Its not an equal game, its more luck of connection how well your able to do, just play n have fun.

(crazyfoolish) #99

good to see that at least the ps3 players are having a great time.

(NigelDocker) #100

Yeh, i dunno why but theres a good vibe playing on the ps3, theres also a good community n you see other players around n play with and against them n just have fun, if the teams are uneaven (usually) ppl will even it up. its just all about fun.
