I think they need to change up proxy a bit and have her only get one mine instead of two, because its pretty unbalanced especially with several proxies on one team, mines everywhere. I know they did this with Fagger by only giving him one grenade instead of two, and I think it would be a very good change to give proxy only one mine. What is your opinion guys?
Proxy should only get one mine.
Proxy’s mines weren’t very strong before the insta-gib changes, and they’re even weaker now. In the vast majority of cases if you died to a proximity mine you deserved it, and most of the times you didn’t deserve the death an ally set it off on you. If anything we should look at buffing her mines.
Also, you may want to edit your post to correct Fragger’s name.
it’s not exactly hard to keep an eye out for mines when you are walking. Besides, 99% of all the proxies always plant the mines at the same spot over and over again which makes it even easier to know exactly where they put them. Learn the spots for the mines on each map, keep an eye out and you won’t die to one again. 2 mines is not even close to being broken.
Why is it okay for frager to lose his grenades? Same argument can be made. Most throw the grenade at the same spot (waiting for spawn wave timing) over and over.

there is a big difference between a grenade and a mine you know. if proxy could throw her mines and they would explode on impact instantly, she would definitely be nerfed somehow, but thats not possible at all since it takes like 3-4 seconds for the mine to actually activate. Fragger is easily one of the best mercs and had to be stopped when it came to spamming grenades. Cooking those grenades and just throwing them was insanely op, still kinda is but they did some good nerfs. You can’t even compare those two.
Comparing Fragger to Proxy isn’t an argument that holds up.
Fragger is a combat character. Proxy is an Engineer. They’re supposed to be strong on the defensive. Proxy’s fighting ability is really weak. She has the second lowest health in the game (after Sparks) and only SMG/Shotgun weapons. If you have a straight fight between Proxy and Fragger, Fragger will win everytime. Proxy needs the mines so she can play smart. Fragger doesn’t need the Grenades to do his job. They’re only so he can siege break.

Most good proxy players don’t use the mine to “Drop in common spot and wait for enemy to pass”. They hop around and throw them at your feet in middle of combat and blow you up, like an improvised grenade. When you’re dealing with more than one bunny hopping, mine slinging proxy, it get’s very spammy.

Not if the proxy is experienced. A bunny hopping, wall jumping, shotgun armed proxy will easily dispatch a fragger, esp by throwing a mine at his feet and detonating it while he wobbles around like a sleepy tortoise.

Just admit it, you don’t even think it actually is op at all that proxy can store two mines, you are just tired of annoying Proxies and wish they would get nerfed. Your arguments stopped being valid when you said she is like fragger. please.
In the time it takes a Proxy to drop a mine mid-combat and then blow it up on you they could have just used their Shotgun or SMG to kill you. If you see a Proxy drop a mine at your feet just move away. If the Proxy ambushed you simply be aware that a mine drop is a possibility.
And if you think this is annoying just wait until you fight a good Fletcher.

Not true. Less mines would mean less proxy spam. The mines on proxy are the same thing as gernades on fager, they are used to spam the map with explosives.

You don’t even know what you are talking about. You really are just mad because you are getting owned by Proxies. They are so easy to counter it’s not even funny. Learn how to counter them instead of trying to get them nerfed when it really isn’t necessary at all. You are pretty much the only person that think that 2 mines are op.

Yes personal insults are the way to go when you cant make a better argument!
“You’re mad because you suck” works to counter ANY of the balance changes made to the game so far.
Im not the only one who thinks that, some of my friends do too and Ive seen people comment the same thing on servers.
Its no different that Fagers grenades. And Proxies don’t “drop mines” at your feet so you can see it, they throw them like a Frisbee when hopping around. They use them not as they were intended to. At least add a cooldown, instead of allowing them to throw both out at once. Its completely unbalanced.

i have given you so many good arguments that make a lot of sense but you are just ignoring them and saying that Proxy is like Fragger and thats sad because she isn’t even close to it. it’s an insult to say that Proxy is like Fragger. Oh, i bet you and your friends are playing on the min level 5 server. Proxy is not even close to OP and there is 100% no need to even consider nerfing her.
You clearly have never played Proxy. The mines have no range on them, you can put them 2 meters away from you max (one body length).
Also, you’re mad because you suck. That’s how it is, you disagreeing doesn’t make it not true.
Honestly I think the issue stems from the fact that the deployables start cooldown while said deployable is in play.
For example, I place a healing station down and it starts recharging right away. I imagine his is so you can place it in another place without having to run back and get it…but then again if you’re not keeping up with it then that’s kinda of your fault isn’t it?
I think deployables should only start recharging AFTER they are destroyed, this cuts down on spam and can even mean they get buffed or changed a little more for depth.
For example, why do the mines explode when an ally shoots them? It makes disarming them a nightmare. It’d be cool if I could crouch walk near them, interact, and disarm them. And that augment that delays their explosion could be even more useful.

Im making valid argument based on personal experience in 300+ hours of gaming. So I’m not making it from “Lvl 5” servers as you are so desperately trying to personally insult me. I know this forum encourages personal insults and “cursing each other out”, but you are ignoring the arguments I make too. The range on mines is actually pretty wide, so I am surprised that you mention quite the opposite. Ive seen people try to safely detonate enemy mines from a far enough distance only to be blown up by them because the range is so long.
I guess you guys haven’t played against experienced proxies who know how to use the class to their advantage. A guy running around planting mines in predictable spots and strafing left and right in firefights is not an issue, but is also not the way experienced players play proxy. Those with experience use the mines as timed grenades, often surrounding you with them as they bunny hop around you, locking you in a sort of “circle” of mines, and when you try to step out, they shoot the mines to kill you.
If a proxy only had one mine, they wouldn’t be able to spam them so much in combat and might have to use them as intended…as traps placed in strategic places to surprise the enemy.
But hey, I’m just mad because I suck and anyone who disagrees with you guys is a mad noob who sucks and only plays on level 5 servers.
Very mature of you.

Geez, dude. Proxy is already considered the worst out of the three engineers and you want to nerf her?
If she was given only one mine, she wouldn’t be able to control a lot of area and make a lot of traps. In fact, that’s kind of even more incentive for her to use it as a grenade of sorts because she has to make it count considering how easy it is to spot and shoot.
