Problems Making A Custom Campaign.

([ToC]Death) #1

I made a campaign using http://wolf.dehn.net/campaign.php and made a 5 map campaign. The campaign was called [ToC] Campaign! and the description was This is [ToC]'s Campaign!. The 5 maps I put on the server, in this order, are: Venice, Goldrush, TC_Base, Fueldump and Desert Temple 3. It said in the server’s console that it couldn’t find venice.bsp. Don’t say get the venice.bsp, because I already have it. Is there a way I can fix this, as well as all the other custom maps I put on?

do you have tc_venice_rc2 ? instead of regular venice ?
In which folder did you put the maps ?

i hav regular venice. i didnt acually download the .pk3 files for the actual maps themselves, just downloaded the campaign for them (dunno if it contained the pk3’s for all the maps) and i put them in etmain.

You NEED the maps or server won’t run

ok, i will do that, but last time i installed sum maps for stopwatch, i got the same problem (the server cannot load <mapname>.bsp). how do i fix that?

You would be much better off making your own campaign config. I used that one and it is a bit problematic. Atleast of you craft your own you know if you screwed up a line you know exactly where the problem exists. to help ya out here is one of Our custom campaigns I made my self. They must be named ([your campaign].campaign) It runs like a top. We ran these 3 in rotation 1,2,3 and I looped them 6 or 7 times before the comand clearxp.

The only problem I can think of: is the person selecting the maps, not matching the mapnames up properly, the campaign editor works fine. I even helped him add 40 maps to that list. Ya see, the .bsp name of the map is what is called throught the cycle files. If you mismatch a specific name, of course you’ll run into problems. (although, you will need to be careful what map you use to start your campaign as it may switch to the default campaign the map is ‘labeled’ for)

Death, that is what Nail means, you need the MAPs, the .PK3’s.
Have you ever edited a server.cfg ?
The cycle or the campaign uses the map files to allow players to play on a server.
The map files usually range from 3 MB to 20MB , Venice is a large .pk3 file(19MB).

You need to download the .pk3’s specifically for each map. Be careful, there are several versions of the same maps. Then you need to upload them to the server’s ETMAIN FOLDER or corresponding MOD FOLDER/MAPS.
