Problem with playing ET on 2 PCs using a Linksys Router

I need help, when me and my brother play ET at the same time and on the same server our ping skyrockets to the 500+ mark. This makes it unplayable. I’ve tried to use the +set net_port 27961 command but still no luck. Anybody else seen this? Better yet has anybody found a fix?

Both PCs are P4 2.4 with atleast 512 RAM an 9600 PROs, no virus and spyware on them as far as I’ve checked. I really need help.

Do both PCs work alone ?

Both PCs have unique IPs ?

Have you changed any of the other ET network settings, aside from net_port ? (BTW, you should only change the port value on one of them)

Is the linksys router correctly configured for NAT (aka connection sharing) ?

How high is your ping if you play ET simultaneously but on different servers?

The results were 920 kbps Download and 240 Upload.

I have to verify the ping when we’re on diffrent servers.
