After spending 2 hours attempting to fix this, I am stumped. I have updated PB manually and all is happy.
But when I connect to a ET PB server one of 2 things happen; my X session either locks up , or it locks up with the tty console saying "PB Client 1.082 " without error.
Ideas ?

False PB INIT FAILURE kicks: Something todo with the retarded update system of PB, update PB manually or keep trying till you recieved all the new updates.

Mine is completely screwed… I used pbweb.x86 to update
and now it freezes at black screen. Last thing in console is:
^5PunkBuster Client: PunkBuster Client (v1.082 | A0) Enabled
I know that “A” version is wrong.
If I delete the new PB .so files, I can start the game and actually
get to a server menu but as soon as I update my games freezes
when starting.
Don’t they test this shit? Hopefully they aren’t taking the day
off since they decided to push this crap out on a holiday weekend.

p.s. I even tried as root with “et +set fs_homepath /home/slick/.etwolf” but it didn’t help.
