Do you get any error?

Try this, I only suggest because it’s happening to me for some reason, and it may have nothing to do with your problem lol, but it’s worth a go…

Check in C:\WINDOWS\system32\ & look if there is a file called “autoexec.nt”

If it’s not there, go to C:\WINDOWS\repair\ and copy the autoexec.nt file from there into C:\WINDOWS\system32\

For some reason, I can’t install new programs sometimes because that file gets lost - but just copying it back in allows me to install.

As I say it may have nothing to do with your problem, but thought i’d suggest it in case it helped…

thx for the suggest errolfynn, i checked in but everythings find.
thats not the reason somthing else :frowning:

Are you running Windows XP SP1 ?
If yes, try updating your Windows installer:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5fbc5470-b259-4733-a914-a956122e08e8&DisplayLang=en

Try opening a DOS box and running setup from there (it will launch the installer but you may see a error message)

Try looking in the XP eventlogs (Start – Run — EVENTVWR). Any red icons in the Application or System logs ?

Try downloading again (from this website) and burn onto a CD. Then install from CD

Try disabling antivirus during install process

(free_4343) #8

1.well… i updated the windows installer but nothing happens but why i need windows installer…

2.i looked in the xp eventlogs, theres some red icons and yellow icons in application and system logs.
what do i need to do…

oo and something else even the patch for wolfet doesnt work i cilcked next and the screen automaticly quits, and the same with call of duty i installed it before with no problems, now the samething happens its just quits. :???: :???:

(Gimpsta) #9

In the eventlogs, doubleclick the red icons to see the error message. It may help to diagnose your problem.

Another thing you could do is to install on another computer and then copy the entire directory to your PC (if you have a spare PC or maybe a friend can burn it to CD for you).

(free_4343) #10

i doubled click the red icons as you said and nothing happens,i klicked properties and it sais no properties are available on this object.

(Gimpsta) #11

That’s not good :frowning:
Can you try the copying the entire directory from another machine approach ?

(free_4343) #12

i wil try the copying later, but is there another suggest then copying the entire directory form another machine. :???:

i need to resolve the problem. :banghead: :banghead:

and thx for the tip gimpsta.

Is it possible the administrator on the computer cancelled out any other-user installs ?

Can you upload the logs to a webspace and cancel out any vital info…then give us the link to look @ your problem ?

(free_4343) #14

i dont know if the administrator cancelled any other user installs.

and what logs do i need to upload in a webspace. :???:

(EB) #15

(free_4343) #16

eoo no i cant, and i dont know haw to upload, and its ahuge list there and many red icons and yellow icons.
can you tell me what to do with the logs?

(EB) #17

did you have ET installed on this computer Before ? If so; was it playable ?

(free_4343) #18

yah i installed it before and it worked perfectly, but i had to unintall and re install it becus some problems.
and when i tryed to install the game it just quit.
all this happens befor 3 days ago.

(Nail) #19

when you uninstalled did you you delete the et folder completely?
if not, do that then re-install

(free_4343) #20

yessssss i deleted the folder completely but deleting the folder has nothing to do with the installation.
even the patch for wolfet wont install and the same with call of duty,i deleted call of duty and all the folders and tryed to reinstall it but didnt work it just quit.
you know call of duty and the patch for wolfet are useing the same installtion.

does any 1 knows what type of wolf application or what caind of installation does have wolf et.
