Problem with gamepad to configure left joystick!

(shinyelve) #1

Hello,

I want to use my THRUSTMASTER Dual Trigger 2in1 Gamepad for driving the helicopter in ETQW.

The gamepad has 2 analog joysticks with each 2 axis and several buttons.
I use it in BF2142 and it works well.

Cause there is no way of configuring it in the game, I did it via the console.

Therfore I checked out the 6 PIN Number of the listed controllers and activated mine as Joy “2”. (in_joy2_device “xxxxxx”

Then I configured for each moving action the axis.

e.g. in_heli_side_axis “1”, in_heli_side_joy “2” (means use joystick “2” axis “1” for side movement)

The problem is, I can define axis “0” and “1” which are similar with the right joystick.
But I cannot define the axis for the left joystick which should be “2” and “3”.
There is no response from the left joystick at all, regardless if I have the gamepad in digital or in analogue mode.

But it’s not the left joystick that’s out of order, cause in the game’s menue display, I can use it for moving the cursor.

That means the left joystick is recognized by the game, but it’s not possible to configure to use it in the game!

Someone an idea???

Exact same problem with a Logitech RumblePad 2, I think someone once said it could be force feedback related bug.

The other thread doesn’t help!

The only thing, that I can figure out is that McAffee has the same problem with his rumble pad!

Okay, got the solution!

I uninstalled the Thrustmaster Drivers, and let the gamepad run with the standard window usb driver, means I installed no driver at all!

Now verything seems finde, the both sticks are recognized by ETQW with the axe 0+1 for the left and 2+3 for the right one!
