I am having a problem with running enemy territtory in linux that is getting annoying :banghead: yeah its that bad!. My computer running with a geforce3 ti200 using the Nvidia driver from nvidia’s website for linux i get some errors with the texture issues. First of all in the meny there is a transparent forest green jagged stripe. It is bigger in higher resolutions. Also the textures on the guns look messed up. I ahve had this happen on 2 distributions of linux, SuSE and Redhat. Help?
Problem with enemy territory in linux
The obvious question is, how old is your driver?
NVidia released a new one like 5 weeks ago, get it. I use version 1.0-4363 and it’s fine. (GeForce2)
Some screen shots might help here.
Sounds like it could be corrupted game data or drivers. You could try downloading et and the drivers again.
Also would you happen to have a copy of windows you could boot into and see if it still happens there?

Im using the new Nvidia driver and i dont ahve this problem in windows. I dont know if you can take a screenshot of the menu and i dont nkow whre enemy territory puts the screenshots. This problem woth the graphics doesnt happen right away sometimes but it always shows up eventually. It seems to show up when my computer freezes and i have to shut it down abnormally.
To take a screenshot of them menu, open the console and type “wait 100;screenshot” and then close the console immediately. In about a second, it’ll take a screenshot. To post an image on the forum, find someplace to host the image, then put the URL between tags. If you have no place to host, email it to me as an attachment and I’ll post it for you. Nobody will be able to diagnose your problem without seeing it.
I know how to take a screenshot and how to post one, ive took some screenshots of this problem of this but i dont know where it puts the screenshots
:banghead: By the way anyone know how to get in the command line without starting x server becasue to install that nvidia driver again i gotta figure that out.
Edit ‘/etc/inittab’ and change the default run level to 3. This will boot you to CL and if you wish to start x…type ‘startx’
If you’re asking how to quit XFree86 so you can install the Nvidia driver, ‘telinit 3’
is probably your answer.
To get back into X, you need to set the init runlevel back to the XDM runlevel. On
RedHat-type systems, I beleive it is ‘telinit 5’, on my system (Slackware) it’s 4.
Look at /etc/inittab to figure out which to use.
ok on the terminal when i switch to 1240X1024 (it seems to crash there and then the green stripe shows up) i get this errot message:
