Pro players = low grafic settings, but WHY?

(Ghosthree3) #61
Yep, totally an advantage. Not like people are that easy to see anyhow…

Not like they have red names over their heads or a red glow around them…
Yeah I really don’t find config edits to be as much as an advantage in this game as some others. People are really really easy to see.

Your passive aggressive hatred of me is really not very subtle. And I speak not only of now but many threads, it’s kinda cute though, keep it up.

Then i would be running around disliking every post you made, disagreeing with you constantly. Bruh, i dont keep grudges , when i see something stupid…I call it out. End of story !

According to your logic and his , WHY THE HELL DID DEVS LOCK THAT? Why? Since its already really really easy to see, why was it locked?

(Ghosthree3) #63

Because they wanted to? Maybe they felt like it gave an advantage? It doesn’t matter, it’s up to them what’s locked and what’s not.

All I said was that people are really easy to see in this game even without any edits. In many games I’ve complained to myself about how difficult it is to see things sometimes, not once in this game, this game’s visibility is incredible.

Maybe it’s an advantage to some, but since I can already see just perfectly in this game, not a problem for me.

Same here

Sorry but this seems like a really stupid thing to bitch about

Then again, he did make a post like this before…

Once again, The RED gradient over enemy player in DB is what makes it easy for making / using triggerbots !
Like…really?

K

And i see that you have posted this ‘passive-aggressive’ crap more than once, if you got a problem with me, use the PM function. Dont call me back to this thread.

After reading certain replies in this thread i came to one conclusion;Dont argue with idiots, they will pull you down to their level and beat you up…

Hence stopping to care about you

(Ghosthree3) #66

Yes I agree, so I will cease discussion with you.

I have a 4770k and a 970 and barely get 140+ with a potato config, blame the game not the player. Shit my game even drops to 100 fps sometimes. Playing on maximum with 60 fps is the real potato not a basic config.

If you were high skill in any FPS game you would understand the HUGE difference in having good FPS, if not for your eyes then at least for your mouse input. But you wouldnt know anything about that would you?
Uh…I get 100 frames on average, 4690k with a slight overclock to 4.5, and an evga gtx 750 ti.

So…yea I don’t get what’s going on with your rig but what kind of psu do you have? What’s your setup running at? details
750m Corsair Bronze Modular PSU
1600mhz 16 gig Corsair
h100i corsair @ cpu cooler
4770k stock clocks (3.9ghz in turbo)
Asus Strix 970 4gb gpu
240gb SSD kingston hyperx
1tb storage
Asus Maximus VI Hero (mobo)

Now i do get a decent 150-180 fps a lot of the time, but it does drop often to under 120 and near 100. 1920x1080 @ 144hz

i play CSGO on minimum with like 400+ fps

That’s bizarre…are you sure your power management settings aren’t causing a problem?

Check Power Options > Advanced Settings, and there should be a setting that controls how high the cpu can go in % values. If you put it on balanced it might drop some voltage just to keep the power usage low.

That’s what was going on with my friend’s rig. Worth a shot, you could also try checking your settings in the control panel for nvidia. Make sure it’s running the way it should be.

(activeClip) #69

The opposite is that you lost the match, had no fun at all and dont really think you want to play the game again.

Whats the lesser of two evils? The competitive CFG i would say?

(Old Man) #70

More FPS means more responsive gameplay, lower graphics means its easier to see stuff. My PC is able to handle the game on high without dropping below 60 FPS so I’m fine. Also I’m too pro to look for any cheap advantage possible

(Mescman) #71

Oh god the “your eyes cant see above XX fps”-arguments, if you use that card when talking about first person shooters, you have pretty much lost the argument automatically.

okay, ill do the same till now xD, the fps drops are so annoying, when u try to pump an jumping sparks-.-
May i recommend this guide where it includes methods including a pro players config since that is what your post is about

Some of you guys would have went insane if Twitch was around back when Q3 was played as Lego Quake. We all still play with those settings actually and it’s built into the game.

(Ghosthree3) #74

It’s so beautiful though.

you should see the minecraft.ini people are making, i can finally get a barely steady 60 fps

(avidCow) #76

Anyway…

Spare a thought for those of us with slow CPU, like an i5M 2.45ghz. Even with potato cfg the frame rate varies WILDLY and that makes it extremely difficult to aim and track properly. A lot of this is poor optimisation and bugginess too. Sometimes the frame rate hovers around 70 - 90, other times it’s a roller-coaster of 25 - 60. Not only is this very frustrating, it gives me a headache. It’s like two completely different games and a has a huge effect on how well I can aim.

(B_Montiel) #77

The issue to me is the removal of some graphical features that clearly give an advantage : foliage, explosion sprites and some strong polygon/texture (I dunno what it is frankly) degrading. Except that, everyone should be left to its own tweaks.

(Amerika) #78

The cfg I run has all foliage and explosions in. I am not a fan of people who intentionally remove those and claim it’s not an advantage. I’m all for people playing the way they want to play but not up to the point where you definitely do get an advantage (even if there are some disadvantages that comes with it). The funny thing is, at least in my case, the consistent fps stays EXACTLY the same with explosions on compared to off.

(Ghosthree3) #79

Your fps is probably past the point of a GPU bottleneck which is why explosions aren’t affecting it.

Also I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. In regards to toning down graphics, as long as you can’t see anything you couldn’t see before toning it down, it’s fine. No matter how much easier it is to see, as long as you can’t see more, it’s fine. So removing smoke particles for example is a no go since you can now see what you couldn’t before.

(Dezzerved) #80

I used to play some shooters at a pretty high level and could easily run them at 200~ fps on max settings. The reason why I use low settings is because higher settings could lead to distractions from textures and the environment, there is also a lower chance for an fps “hiccup”.
