I play on shit graphics because it’s easier to see things. It’s the only way to be pr0.

Steadier framerate and quicker enemy identification for faster reaction. That’s all really. They don’t care about the game looking good, they want performance, not just in framerate, but in removing visual clutter for faster reaction time.
Your fps is probably past the point of a GPU bottleneck which is why explosions aren’t affecting it.
Also I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. In regards to toning down graphics, as long as you can’t see anything you couldn’t see before toning it down, it’s fine. No matter how much easier it is to see, as long as you can’t see more, it’s fine. So removing smoke particles for example is a no go since you can now see what you couldn’t before.[/quote]
I don’t think this game could bottleneck any desktop GPU made in the last few years. I do get the FPS spikes everyone else gets…but when I spike my FPS simply goes down to 150 from 250-300 rather than going from 150 down to 50 or less where it’s very noticeable. Firefights stay relatively smooth despite the severe frame drop. What I’ve noticed is that explosions isn’t the cause of my frame drops as leaving them on or off does not even remotely change FPS behavior.
I do believe it was mentioned on stream that the next update might possibly have the frame drop issues reduced or resolved. It would be nice to have the option to play on super nice graphics. Of course I’d rather have demos be fixed so I can play how I like to play but then run the demo to record certain things but use max graphical settings
