Previous problem with spare Gold cards, now exactly the same for Cobalt

(Kouken) #1

Before Cobalt was introduced a portion of the community were complaining about extra unused Gold cards being a waste of space and an eye sore
We asked for the option to trade them back into Silvers or even reroll them for a fixed Credit fee

Instead you allowed the option to trade 6 of them up into a Cobalt card

Today I finally hit 6 unused Gold Cards, and rolled my first Cobalt Proxy being she is my main. Out of the 9 possible loadouts I only use two of them and all others are useless to me

Heres the cobalt I received

http://i.imgur.com/cnwwNq6.png

The Golds in the picture are the only Proxy loadouts I use and I will never at any point use the new Cobalt one

If you wish to keep this RNG system as it is. PLEASE give us the option to reroll them, dont care if it would cost 50k credits.
And if you still dont wish to allow rerolls or downgrades, then let us please DELETE them cause I dont want this eye sore of a loadout in my collection as a constant reminder that RNG was cruel to me this day

I hope others agree

Cheers,

Kouken

Agree except for deletion as you could accidentally do that perhaps, unless deletion gave you credits in which case maybe.

Destroy a cobalt for a free elite case?
AKA Silver card
(ThatRandomGuy) #4

Dunno about you…But i cant use proxy without double time augment… Without , i feel like a snail D: !

(B_Montiel) #5

Hummm, did you really expect to have one of your 2 favorite loadouts out of a trade-up ? You played the fruit machine, you had a bit more than 22% chances to unlock one of the two. This sounds pretty much fair and logical that you did not get it on your first gold to cobalt trade-up. Statistically, you should do almost 5 trade-ups to be 100% sure to have one of the two (worst case scenario, at 4 trades you’ll be at 89%).

Sorry, but I am really staggered by people still trying to defeat maths with luck and then complain about it.

From a pure casino point of view (and probably nexon and SD one), rerolling would be giving the gambler a chance to redeem himself. Have you seen a blackjack table where players can ask for two new cards because they don’t like what the croupier gave them ? You perfectly understand that it reduces the chances to make profit$$$.

Shows there’s a loadout for everyone. That cobalt one is the one I use for Proxy but at the bronze level.

I do think it would make sense to introduce a way to either sell or downgrade, perhaps swapping a Cobalt for a Bronze of your choosing.

No cobalt is only worth a bronze. Even a terrible one. Consider that it takes 4 bronze for a silver, 4 silvers for a gold and 6 golds for a cobalt. That’s a whole darn lot of bronze cards.

(sinKrin) #8

@cornJester A Cobalt is worth sweet FA if it’s just sat in your inventory not being used.

With the option I presented you’d at least have a choice as to which loadout kit you want. It seems obvious that SD/Nexon are keeping cards above the Bronze level restricted to RNG at the moment.

(RuleofBooKz) #9

yes please

(Backuplight) #10

This is really what kills the loadout system for me above all else. Some of the loadouts are outright unappealing, whereas others just aren’t your personal preference - either way you get landed with cards that just gather virtual dust. Nothing like thinking how many credits/hours went into trading up to that.

It’s the least they can do for us playing their beta game and helping them improve it. People spent hours and money… grinding and grinding for a coin flip. The least they can do is let us do something about these Cobalt cards that we don’t use and not feel completely screwed. It’s just not satisfying… in fact the first time I made a trade-up to a cobalt card I was so discouraged about not getting something interesting that I didn’t even feel like playing anymore.

Today I traded up 6 more gold cards for a Cobalt card and again… I wasn’t satisfied. I had a little more than a 33% chance of getting what I wanted, in this case 66% because of the first one that I missed. Now I’m stuck with 2 useless Cobalt cards. I mean, if I’m the devs… I’m not sure why I would think that trading up gold cards would be the answer and fix everything. You’re still stuck with the same f#%!ing problem once you’re at the Cobalts.

Please make it so that it feels rewarding. Right now I just feel screwed and discouraged.

It takes 96 bronze cards and 32k credits to make a Cobalt card. And for the credits… that’s just starting at the Bronzes and up. It costs more if you calculate in Leads and Irons to make the Bronzes. From Lead to Iron it’s 500 credits a pop and Iron to Bronze is 1000 credits. It’s a hefty amount for so little… I think it’s fair to say that when it takes that much to get your Cobalt card… You should be allowed to choose the one you want. Then they can just keep on coming out with new loadout cards… new skins. Keep the machine rolling. At least players won’t feel completely robbed.

If we base ourselves off the prices here… Each Bronze card is worth 3 dollars which would imply that a Cobalt card is worth 288$ + the 32 000 credits.

I honestly don’t know if I want to laugh… or cry right now.

(avidCow) #12

6 Gold cards and credits should translate into “Here’s whatever damn card you want.”. In some ways (like credit rate) the system has improved markedly but this trade up scheme has gotten ridiculous.

(Amerika) #13

Granted, it’s all personal preference but I agree with this. And I don’t know why you’d ever use the SMG loadout that has a deagle secondary. That’s just gimpy compared to the machine pistol options.

(LifeupOmega) #14

Probably for Drilled, but the Hochfir/Tolen combo is deadly by itself even with awful augments.

(DMaster2) #15

I’m fine with my bronze loadouts, if i’m lucky enough to pull a silver/gold/cobalt that i need great, otherwise who cares. I wonder why people want cobalt that much, ingame i’ve seen terrible cobalt loadouts used just because they are cobalt.

(Dirmagnos) #16

I hardly find any point to level up cards past silver.
Its cheaper to just do copper/silver upgrades from ground up.
And dont even get me started on “exclusive camos”, most of them are crap.
Far better idea would be if at gold card could chose camo for outfit and cobalt would also add weapon camo choice.
Then it might be worth upgrading. Curerntly player spend ton of cash on what have a good chance to be crap.
Plus, rerolling to lover tier card(gold to silver for example, 100 creds for a random card and 200 creds for random card for specific merc) and ability to sell(like 100-200 creds per card level) them is a must.

(XavienX) #17

I think we should be able to degrade our cards down. Basically break them down to original lower cards.

(Eddie) #18

This. I have the exact same Cobalt Proxy card and a Fragger which i barely use.

Would be nice to do something with them.

(Kouken) #19

Allowing us to trade loadout cards on the Steam market for $ or credits would also solve this problem

(RuleofBooKz) #20

who do we have to pay to get this trade back system in place - as far as i can see 100% of the community supports the idea being implemented in some form or another. No one is posting up its a bad idea in general “oh no no im against it i love having a bunch of high level cards in my inventory that i will never use and would bin if i could” so why isnt it happening?
