Previous problem with spare Gold cards, now exactly the same for Cobalt

One possible explanation : The number of players.
CS:GO, Dota 2 and TF2 have great numbers regular of players. At their peak they have (or had in the case of TF2) massive numbers of players. Even if the fraction of players willing to “whale” the market is constant, the more players the game has, the more the market inflate.
Consider, just for an example, that 1% of regular players will whale (in other terms, players that will buy something they are interested in for the price considered fair by the market). In cs:go and dota 2, this makes around 70000 players for each (From steamdb.info, they have both around 7 million of players during the last two weeks). In Dirty Bomb this would do 1000 players (overrated because the game is still in early stages, if you look at steamdb’s average and median time played, they show that the stats are not representative). 70000 players will definitely help the market to live and inflate whereas 1000 is pretty poor.
On top of that, you have the drop rate of what could be regarded as a good item on the market, which is probably way higher in DB than in CS:GO and Dota 2.
With not enough players supporting the market and the drop rate possibly set too high for valuable items, the offer/demand ratio will increase and the prices will drop. From there, you end with cobalt stuff cheaper on the market than a bronze loadout from the in-game shop.
You can easily understand why Nexon and SD are quite reluctant about it. And I’m not mentioning the loss for them with the valve’s share in any sell done.

ah sorry i said “trade back system” not a “trading system”. Its possibly confusing so:

im not for a marketplace where u can trade with other players - defeats the purpose of getting crates and trading up, and kinda all the stuff u mention

Im for something like the game could give u an iron, or something, in exchange for anything better than a bronze. Like recycling those top tier cards back into low tiers so u can redo the trade up thing. Something that simple would already be a huge improvement on the, nothing, we have atm

Just spent 21 saved up iron cards to craft the ONLY good phantom card before buying him
0 luck, this RNG system is a piece of crap
