I know about this from the dedicated server FAQ, but according to a friend the preload is only happening 12 hours before it comes out. Is he talking out of his ass or has this been confirmed?
yeah i hope we’re able to pre load it this weekend, since im leaving monday and won’t be back home 'till friday and i don’t wanna waste even more time downloading

Does your friend work at Vavle? Didn’t think so.
Generally pre-loads start about 2-4 days before release.
If you own Brink, the “available” date on steam is 1 day earlier than the official release. I’m guessing this refers to preloading the game.
Nope, it doesn’t, I’m in Central time.
If you own the game on steam, go to their website without logging in and check the date, then login and check again.

I knew it was preloading, but it was never stated specifically that it was going to be 12hrs before release, which the OP was querying.

Now that people with a steam preorder are able to preload the game - does this work for anyone? It does not seem to work for me at all. I did not really expect it to work since bandwidth is not free and I never hard of this before, but he seemed convinced it would.
