Pre-order DLC... :|

(LyndonL) #21

Why wouldn’t they? You’re seriously not listening when I keep saying the CD Key/Licence is all that matters.

You buy the game in UK you get a UK Key and you can USE THAT KEY AND ITS CONTENT ANYWHERE.
You buy the game in US you get a US Key and you can USE THAT KEY AND ITS CONTENT ANYWHERE.
You buy the game in AU you get a AU Key and you can USE THAT KEY AND ITS CONTENT ANYWHERE.

Please tell me you’re seeing a pattern?

I don’t get it, each sentence is exactly the same amount of characters, but somewhere around “you get a AU Key” it shifts like 1 space to the left, relative to the previous two sentences. I am baffled

EDIT: Oh my god! In the quote they ARE the same length, but not in the original post!
What is happening!?

You’ll be surprised …

(Mustkunstn1k) #24

LyndonL - I am looking at the sentence " Incentive is only available for UK accounts" right now.

(EcafNoGav) #25

Yeah, this kind of stuff is BS and why I can’t wait until all brick and mortar retailers are driven out of the console business with games only being sold through XBL or PSN. Of course PCs will still have a bunch of services vying to keep consumers from spending money at other retailers by denying them content they already paid for.

I guess the least you can hope is that the douche bags that came up with this kind of con get herpes and die a painful death.

(tokamak) #26

Lol man you’re flip-flopping. You make a thread about content being too exclusive and now it suddenly is too easy? Haha.

(hamstein) #27

Didn’t BC2 release the M1911 pistol as “exclusive DLC” but it turned out everyone got one?

(Mustkunstn1k) #28

There are different ways of making something exclusive. I’l take the option where you have to play the game over the option of paying money for different copies any day.

BFBC2 did it very well. They had like 5 day-1 items which were available to everyone, but people who pre-ordered got it straight away, without having to earn xp.

(Herandar) #29

Yes, people submit posts, and readers ignore them.

(Jess Alon) #30

Never heard of that ever. You’re thinking of the tommy gun. One of the MORE exclusive pieces is the M1 garand. Which you have to connect 3 games to get.

U and A is spaced differently, thus making the sentence shift. At least I think…

(Herandar) #32

No, he’s right. If you pre-ordered, you got stuff early. At this point it makes no difference though.

Pretty sure you just have to have one other Battlefield game linked to your EA account to unlock the M1 Garand. Could be wrong though, as I don’t have it.

I guess that’s why they didn’t include that option.
I’ve never really understood why there are bonuses like these spread out between different stores

But eh, it helps them in some way I guess, maybe the stores compete and bid on which pack they get to offer, so they can get more customers?
I suspect the publisher doesn’t want distributors in a direct price competition for customers.

(Mustkunstn1k) #35

How does it affect the publisher? Publisher sells the game at a specific price, the distributors can then sell either at a loss or at a gain.

(Crytiqal) #36

Here’s an idea, why don’t you pick the one you like most?

(Mustkunstn1k) #37

That isn’t the point of the thread.
I will most likely order from amazon.co.uk, if the code is actually usable here.

(SIiced Bread) #38

Wishing the Amazon and Gamestop ones would switch. Gamestop is having a midnight release so I want to jump on right away…amazon is delivery which will make me wait, I know it’s lame, another day to actually get to play it.

(Mustkunstn1k) #39

Guess the only anwser is to go pre-order from Amazon and hope for the best. Really hope that the code work.

(Crytiqal) #40

Since when are there actual regional restrictions on PC games?

I bought games from America and never had a problem
