ET:QW has none :slight_smile:

Well that’s not strictly true. During a campaign you can unlock class specific abilities as long as you progress as that class but to be honest I wouldn’t worry about unlocks.

What you will have to get used too is tap shooting, strafing and a number of controls and stuff that are not mentioned anywhere in the manual (in fact my original manual only had 4 pages and 2 of those where the licence agreement).

I can run you through it easily enough mate, its hella fun! ::stroggbanana:

Not trying to cause trouble, but this is why I play on Xbox. That kind of thing made me want to pick up my computer and throw it out the window. My father-in-law works for HP. But I got tired of bothering him every time Soul Reaver wouldn’t load. Got old.

Probably out of date drivers, direct x, or a graphics card that doesn’t support some acceleration function the game needs.

We’ll need to know your PC specs, driver revision and direct x version to help you more.

Are you using an “onboard” graphics card? Sounds to me like your driver or GPU has limitations I’m afraid. Aside from updating your drivers, I’m not really sure what to suggest. Unless of course there was a problem with the demo that was never fixed/updated - but it always ran fine for me, as did the full game. All searches turn up pretty much nothing, sadly.

I have so few problems running PC games, I often wonder where the hell people bought their hardware :slight_smile: I’d imagine your problem was similar to Zanchile’s with ET:QW - either poor driver support, or an onboard GPU that lacked certain OpenGL extensions required by the game. Shame - Soul Reaver was - and still is IMO - one of the best games of that genre that I’ve ever played :slight_smile: It still runs fine on my current setup too. Sequels were a bit rubbish though, mostly.

I was very far in Soul Reaver when it stopped loading. Hence my frustration. Great game. :smiley:OpenGL extensions sounds like some kind of Flux Compacitor. I don’t know how either works. And don’t want to. Just press play. :slight_smile:

lol,

my comp is a dell dimensio 1100, everything in there is what came with the computer, except the graphics card. on the card i see a sticky that says PNY next to where the moniter is plugged into the card. is tht enough infor? Oh, and i run windows 7.

Right click the desktop background, and choose Screen Resolution. On the window that pops up, click the Advanced Settings link halfway down on the right-hand side. Post the value of the “Adapter Type” at the top of the next window :slight_smile:

This video on youtube suggests that ET:QW does support the 8400 GS, at least. So I’m tempted to say driver update required - however, there is still the chance that some update from NV in later drivers has broken support for ET:QW on that card. It’s unlikely, but it IS possible.

So first off - get over to the NV site and grab some bang-up-to-date drivers. Be sure to report your progress to the Makron… I mean let us know how you get on :slight_smile:

There’s another possibility, but one that can’t be verified without spending money or cough acquiring a copy via other means that I don’t at all condone :smiley: I think there’s a good chance that the demo has lingering bugs that were never fixed - and my assumption is that the full game, which was patched several times, should have fixed these bugs. It really is an assumption though.

I’m afraid that’s about all I can offer - the game definitely should support your card, and I’d say you’d get OK performance with medium settings.

finally figured out how to get the ETQW demo on my PC working. IT IS AWESOME!!! lemme tell u the console version Was. Nerfed. To. Hell. PC version is epic. ill buy ETQW once i figure out what punk buster is and why i need it to play on all the servers, and how to play with out everything on low.

EDIT: Also PC bots are better. now im gonna go and kill some more strogg on valley. Rocket launcher is Awesome!

PB is there for cheat protection. Not something to worry about anyway.
As for the bots, you can use the quickchat menu system to order them around.
