Pre-cursor 2 Brink:ET QW

This is a cool video pretty much breaking down ET:QW for Xbox players who are unfamiliar with the game and the whole history of its PC roots and relation to Brink. Let’s discuss! Oh, and this video is a hella funny!

Heres one that explains the game a bit better, even though its on console.

Cool. The game looks awesome. Missed out on this one when it came out obviously. Much more military-looking than Brink. These two games packaged together would make ultimate sense and would’ve reinforced the distinction between these games and other FPS games. I wonder how much of an online is left on Xbox because I think my son would enjoy this too. I’d think this could be picked up at a low price too.

I heard the Xbox version was badly ported by a third party company.

I would get the PC version since a 4 year old pc should even be able to run it. (and since FPS should be played on PC’s anyway  )

My PC is VERY old. I use a Mac now and don’t game on it. Xbox is fine. I already got a message from someone else on here interested in playing ET on xbox.

wolfnemesis75 - keep in mind that vid is essentially the basics of the basics. Its much much much deeper than that, so I dont know if you’re kid is at the age to fully appreciate it.

He should do fine. He creates pretty cool forge maps and is able to do everything in other shooters, like tweaking settings and playing different modes. and gets achievements and plays multiplayer on his own. He is pretty sharp!

Heres a really interesting interview with Wedgwood.

Here’s one that explains how to repeatedly drive over the opposing team’s spawn point with a tank

My ET:QW vids showing obliterator dive bombing / Icurus(jetpack) sniping / 3rd eye camera bomb vs vehicles

Getting up to stuff like this is just a small example of the depth that ET:QW has that is somewhat lacking in Brink … ET:QW has more cool tricks to perfect

how many people play ET on PC? i missed it 1st time round after loving the demo. if people still play im interested! might be tough for a noob on a game 6 years old though!

(Crytiqal) #15

I think you mean ET:QW, since ET is a whole other game.

Anyway, get ET:QW no matter what. It’s hella fun and beats the crap out of BRINK

Since the launch of BRINK the playercount has risen for ET:QW slightly. (talk about rofl)

Check out Extinction, and you’ll understand why QW is so much better than Brink.

No, check out Requiem to see why W:ET is better than them both

I ordered the game for PS3 just the other day. I know…console version is gonna be horrible, but my netbook can’t run it (I can run W:ET though)…and I just wanted to try it out the gunplay and play against bots. (No expectations on being able to find an online match.)

Oh I am so on Quake Wars at the next chance… I so miss spawning as an oppressor, planting the plasma mortar, hoppin in the tormentor, raping the first wave as they get to the objective, if I got GPMG spammed, bailing out and dropping a violator perpendicular to the objective. “p’tanging” out some headshots, if I survived long enough, calling in plasma mortars and indivudually landing them on GDF scum!

Good times… Loved Rocket spamming too, when you knew trajectories from certain map points you could land some awesome kills from SPAWN! I really enjoy BRINK, but Quake Wars is still the king!

Man after my own heart. Shooting the first forward spawn on salvage as they just arrive to try and capture it was my fave shot.
