Well, I only managed to get 3 people to test the map today. One guy had this weird problem getting disconnected every time the map played a music track near the end of the level. He couldn’t reconnect until the music stopped. Never heard of any bug like that. I’m hoping it may have more to do with his computer than my level. Do any of you guys have a server with reliable players? I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get back the numbers that we used to have.

Here are some new screenshots. They probably don’t look much different because I have been mostly working on scripting the objectives and bug fixes. You will probably notice some prefabs that I pulled out of Radar, Rail Gun, and Fuel Dump that I retextured or modified.

Spawn Times: Axis 20 Seconds
Allies 20 Seconds


Overview:

Mission Three: "The Allies must steal a prototype jet engine from the Praetoria Research Facility and take it to the Airfield that was captured by the paratroopers in Mission One.

Axis Objectives

1 “Primary Objective:**Don’t let the Allies steal the Command Card from the Drunk Officer.”
2 “Primary Objective:**Don’t let the Allies Load the Engine onto the Tug at the North Crane.”
3 “Primary Objective:**Stop the Allies from Returning the Tug to the Depot Yard.”
4 “Primary Objective:**Stop the Allies from breaching the First Truck Barrier.”
5 “Primary Objective:**Stop the Allies from breaching the Second Truck Barrier.”
6 “Secondary Objective:**CHECK YOUR FIRE! Don’t kill your own commander!”
7 “Secondary Objective:**Build a Command Post”
8 “Secondary Objective:**Defend the East Courtyard.”

Allied Objectives

1 “Primary Objective:**Steal the Command Card from the Drunk Officer and take it to the Track Switch Console.”
2 “Primary Objective:**Get the tug to the North Crane to Steal the Supersonic Engine.”

If I provide you with the map, can you test it just with your clan? I’d like to keep the map from getting a public release while it is still being tested. Praetoria One was uploaded to “RTCW Files” by somebody else before I was ready for it to be released.

LOL. That is the part I pulled out of Radar. But I did open up the entire interior and tweak it a bit.

I don’t think I could get more than 6 people to play it so there is no sense in testing your map with such a small team :frowning:

Why not set up a kind of close event, so you’ll be sure to have enough people and it will stay private?

I was not able to get together another group to test this map. I am going to run another compile and then I’ll post a link this weekend for everyone to download and try out. Please don’t upload it to any file hosting sites. But if you have a server, I don’t mind if you test it with the public. I really need to know if anybody gets kicked after the truck passes the second tank barrier. During my 2vs2 game, 1 guy got kicked at that point and was unable to reconnect to the server until after the map had restarted. I have some music starting at that point so I’m not sure if it is related. We played the map twice and he was kicked both times at the same point. Not sure why he was the only one.

I am using a lot of entities so if the map gets a gamestate error, I may need to cut some of the objectives out of the map.

Diego,

if you start the map with developer 1 you’ll find some sound issues … not in path/typos.

edit: there is also a warning about a missing lightmap stage.

Console cmd ‘entitylist’ may help you to get an overview of used entities (I’m not sure if you already know this cmd so I just mention it).

i have to say, you once again managed to astonish us with your mapping skills!! This map looks really awesome!
i tested the map alone, so I can’t help you with gameplay issues. However I found 4 things I’d like to report.

1: Truck Escorting
The truck doesn’t move, when you are standing on top of the engine-crate. I don’t know whether this is intention, but I think it would be better if it moved.

2: Texture Allignement
The image-attachements give you all the information you need.
Shot1: Door
Shot2: Wall on the left
Shot4: Step

I did a plain local etmain test and did not have any problems. I will put it on our server to test it with a few more people but i cannot guarantee some random dude wont spread your pk3.

But, the map is really great! I like the whole scene and the objective.
… i mostly loved the sleeping soldier and the idea stealing the keys from him. The music that followed the steal action was really really nice.
I have to play some more because i was curious and needed to tell that the map is awesome and 50MB is fully acceptable.

Oh…and i liked the ending :wink:
