Possible to change the sounds?

(Cerebrate) #1

Can I somehow change the sounds in ET by fiddeling with the pak-files? What I want to do, is to make the mp40 have the same sound as the Thompson.

(MuffinMan) #2

ask Konigstiger (konigstiger@wolfproject.net) he knows how to do it

(SCDS_reyalP) #3

Yes, but the soundpack has to be on the server, or it will only work on unpure servers.

Your best bet is to suck it up and learn to love ET’s cheasy sounds, IMO :stuck_out_tongue:

or unless the server itself is using the sounds but then you need all users connection to download them

Does anybody know what .pk3 contains all teh vsays?

(Sauron|EFG) #7

pak0.pk3

Look under sound\chat\ inside the pk3.

(HairyPlums) #8

pak0.pk3 is your man.

You’ll find them in the subfolders sound/chat/allies & sound/chat/axis. Unfortunately they are just numbered, not named like wunderbar.wav or anything…

(Cerebrate) #11

I changed the name of the files and it worked perfectly on a local game, but it wasn’t accepted on the internet. :frowning:

(Sauron|EFG) #12

And SCDS_reyalP already told you why…
