Hi,

I was wondering about the release date of ET, is it going to be released about a month or months, half year or longer ;(?

Yes i know when its done ;), but a possible indication would be nice…

If you asked questions we could actually answer, you’d get more answers from us

ROFL!

Hey would ya rather the developers religiously answered every question, prompting more questions until it became a full-time job, or would you rather they kept their focus in the development of ET?

Patience is a virtue

I actually really like answering questions; it’s nice to be able to talk about something you’ve been working on with other people.

However, we can’t answer questions like ‘will <insert feature> be in ET?’ or ‘when is ET coming out?’ - you need to ask Activision for that sort of information

cool!

So what are you SD guys working on nowadays that you can share? Is ET in a QA/bugfix cycle?

That’s just a more subtle way of asking when it’s coming out :stuck_out_tongue:

OK. What kind of  do you like ?

Oh, and whats the best place to send wolf bug reports ? does wolfbugs (at) idsoftware.com still work ?

:drink: Not really! You guys could be completely done with the game, and moved onto something else while activision decides when the right market conditions exist for its release. I’m more curious about the work rather than the dates. I’m not trying to coerce you into divulging top secret information or anything… :twak:

Several of us at the office drink Grolsch by preference at the moment, mostly because that’s what me and Frankie keep bringing back with us from the supermarket…

Otherwise it tends to be a mix of Becks and a variety of crappy effeminate alcopops with the occasional English real ale

wolfbugs@id… should still work, and if you mail it your bug report SHOULD get to the person responsible for maintaining the wolf codebase, but I can’t guarantee that (obviously). Best way to find out is to mail it and see if id’s mailserver sends you it back in a huff

Totally cool that you actually answer questions for the community! – Just curious, I read an article about RTCW Tides of War for the X-Box:

http://www.gamingworldx.com/xbox/ReturntoCastleWolfensteinTidesofWar.shtml

The article stated that in ‘Tides’ the graphics had “received their share of upgrades,” and that “there have been graphical improvements up the wazoo in the months since RTCW’s PC release . . . [and] [t]he graphics engine and several of the animations have been tweaked, to provide a more clean graphical feel to the game.”

Are you guys planning to tweak, enhance, or alter the graphics released with ET, beyond the addition of new textures and skins? If so, will the hardware requirements change to any appreciable degree? I know it was already mentioned that you were developing a a “new model system that allows character class models to share animation data.” http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=625
What will that mean in terms of how characters’ animations will change in ET?

Also mentioned in several previews was the addition of ‘proning.’ Assuming this is still a planned feature, will proning be relatively easy for players to use, or will it come with a slight disadvantage like taking time to get out of the prone position during which the player is vulnerable, etc?

Finally, you mentioned in an earlier post that players gain skills, experience, and additional abilities based on their performance across campaigns. May players only obtain skills during campaigns, or will this occur each time a round ends? Will competitive players be able to disable this during clan matches, should they so choose?

Thanks for taking the time, but sorry about all the questions
