Hey, a friend of mine finally got into his freezing ET! He was never able to load the game up without if freezing. What he did was turn down his desktop resolution to 800x600/16bit and it loaded right up. After creating a Profile the game works everytime, without having to change the default res. He is now happily downloading years of custom map work.
