Possible achievements for the xbox version

(Voxie) #61

Usually the developers have it unlocked from the start.

(NiNja) #62

Yeah, the devs start with it, and then it just starts to spread like wildfire… It was the best in Shadowrun, because you got the achievement by t bagging someone that had it.

(darthmob) #63

I like that a lot!

An achievement that promotes immature, unsportsmanlike gameplay - brilliant…

It’s just a bit of fun m8, games don’t have to be serious all the time

(NiNja) #66

Horse, You just made my night with that quote rofl.
One curious thing that was mentioned here how ever is achievements giving away tactics or ways of doing things, I do like discovering things in a new game for myself, and it’s even better when that time pays off and you discover something that can help sway a match. Having that discovery made available via an achievement is like having a manual in game showing you everything there is to know, taking away any of the mystery or depth… and removing my sense of achievement when I discover something for myself.
Thats on the money for me.

Achievements aren’t a bad thing? Why does everyone make it seem like they are?.. They make games way more interesting… Like in The Orange Box, Half Life 2 had an achievement for you to bring a garden gnome through the Whole entire game… A little thing like that added an additional 5-10 hrs of gameplay. and that’s just ridiculous funny :stuck_out_tongue:

(tokamak) #70

That sounds great. There should be a special T-bag section for all the T-bag achievements you can have.

(BioSnark) #71

in hopes of correcting a common error: teabagging is correctly done to the head. spamming the crouch button over other areas of the body has other implications…

(NiNja) #72

LoL how can you define a “proper” t bag? is there really an honest to goodness method on how to do it correctly?

(BioSnark) #73

it’s not something that originated among xbox kiddies or on video games in general.

(NiNja) #74

Sooo where do it originate, and for that matter. How?

(crazyfoolish) #75

Probably in prison or a boarding hostel.

(NiNja) #76

lol ok then, back on topic… What kind of achievements are people looking forward to?

(LyndonL) #77

Skill based ones would be good… I haven’t thought past 2 seconds, but things like Headshot kill whilst climbing over a wall or sliding across the floor etc.

(H0RSE) #78

I would say nothing that promotes killing, and more stuff that promotes using class skills and teamplay. It’s an FPS - of course people are going to get kills, you don’t need achievements for it (even “skillful” kills, like headshots) they should reward players for doing what the game is about - class based, team objective gameplay.

(NiNja) #79

I think they definitely need story based achievements… and a viral one would be sweet… But achievements are meant to show accomplishments… and especially with Richard Ham designing them, they will definitely be good!

(LyndonL) #80

Here in lies that argument in the other thread…

It’s not one or the other. It should be a healthy mix of all of the aspects.
Teamwork achievements AND killing, and then secret finding, and then I think there should be body type achievements such as taking x amount of damage as a heavy or performing x parkour manoeuvre as a light etc.
Variety is the spice of life, and also promotes learning different play styles/jumping out of your comfort zone.
