Positivity thread

We all know there is a lot of things to complain about regarding this game, and it makes us all salty from time to time. But we all play this game for a similiar reason: it’s fucking awesome. I want some positivity in here, theres just too many threads with angry rants and complaints. What is good about this game? Why do you keep spending hours and hours playing Dirty Bomb? What was good about recent events or updates? What are you looking forward to?

Spread some love for the developers and community managers, they deserve it :slight_smile:

Okay, here we go…
Devs, you guys are fucking awesome. This game has the most addictive gameplay Ive ever played in a shooter.
Sure there are many things i disagree with, but lets stick to the positive stuff.
I love the whole selection of mercs, and the thoughts and design put into them.
Also the amount of free shit u give us is insane, we definitely aren’t entitled to free stuff (e.g obsidian phoenix, case a day may etc), so thanks for those cool things.
I love the dev streams, theyre super fun and I love the way you get to interact with the community by doing that. Same goes for involving the yutubers in revealing the gen 2 cards - very good idea to get the community involved more.
Thank you for this great game, and I hope it one day gets out of beta!

DB is a very unique game and has a great design philosophy that not many games share. While there are questionable choices in their design (for me at least), for the most part the DB team has done a bang on job of making DB a great game!

When I visit London I will bring you biscuits Splash Damage, you deserve them. (and some tea, haha mostly because I feel like a cup now…)

Best Free-to-play shooter currently available.

However, I have yet to play Overtwatch, but I’ve heard DB is still better or just as great. Hopefully they won’t take too many wrong directions with microtransactions and updates. But I’m loving it so far. :slight_smile:

(Edit: anyone who reads this and disagrees, I would love to know why you think they can be compared extensively, I realize they can be compared to a certain LIMITED extent, but I don’t think they should really be compared in general because of their completely different mechanics and styles. But that’s just my opinion, I would like to hear yours.)

Don’t compare Overwatch to DB, they are completely different games with the similarities between them ending at the facts that they are both FPSs and team based. I played Overwatch quite a bit during the open beta and I can assure you that Overwatch, while a very good game, does not provide the same experience as DB.

Nothing against you, but I think people as a whole should probably realize this as the comparison is made frequently. Each game has its own distinct taste not to be compared with the others.

Thank you, Splash Damage, for your development of Dirty Bomb. It’s a great game; I plan on playing it for a long time, and it just keeps getting better. You guys get a lot of flak for not doing what people want right when people want it, but you’re doing pretty damn well all things considered. My positive comment of the day will go towards medics.

When it comes about medics, among the games I know, Dirty Bomb does it the best ! Splash Damage managed to do it just right, making Medics a must have in your team without making them utterly overpowered while allowing them to fight decently. While playing medic (or healer) in a lot of games can feel more like a chore than anything, playing medic in DB is a real pleasure and still allow you to frag people very decently.
