yeah its pretty awesome

(Ashog) #82

Yeah! Great job! Time to clean up the worms! I mean bugs

Please keep the good work up! Also feels nice to see with own eys that some bugs you reported were addressed and officially fixed/finalized.

Really enjoying crouch jump so far, big props for implementing it.

Time to try a little ramp jump logic now as well?

I think some of the level geometry needs to be changes to make use of it better, I like flying over things and jumping through windows Half Life Style!

You’re welcome

I’ve seen crouch->jump giving increased vertical height being a fairly simple and non intrusive mechanic in some other games, but interesting none the less. Any more nifty movement stuff is much appreciated!

I would really like to play this game and give positive feedback but me and my two other friends that bought this feel scammed. Sadly I do not know what to tell people that want to buy this alpha. At first I was telling everyone yeah do it buy it looks sweet. Now its like say away its a waste of money. I really really want to play! But I do not want to play on a laggy Euro server…

(Jamieson) #88

Whereabouts are you located? Because I’ve had a few games on the US servers (I’m from the UK) and it played fine for me even with a ping of over 150, although if you’re from AUS I could see why it might be a problem.

(Seanza) #89

If everybody who said “I hate playing on Euro servers, hardly any Americans” (or anything similar) actually arranged to play with each other like us Euros do (we are now at a point where we can expect each other to be on every night pretty much) then that phrase would stop.

(rand0m) #90

Problem is there’s like 5 American alpha testers and I’m 1 of em. Luckily I’m home at the time you guys play so I can hop into games sometimes. This game needs a lot more exposure in America or else it’s just gonna go the way of ETQW/Brink REAL quick.

(Seanza) #91

There’s waaaaay more than 5…

(rand0m) #92

There is, but only 5 still active and around.

(Seanza) #93

I think that’s on the American players rather than on Splash Damage. We’re doing what we can to get everybody as active as they can be on this game with showmatches, draft matches and other events in the pipeline. Really hope somebody on your side of the pond can do the same too.

(Nail) #94

I often wander through 2 or 3 maps all by myself, can’t actually play as my left wrist is barely usable atm, but I wander around being a target, but no one joins

(rand0m) #95

Actually I think it’s on splash damage. People don’t play because of the state of the game and the lack of SD fixing the problems. I guess we Americans are more inclined to playing different games as to why ET/ETQW lasted longer on your side of the pond. But the problem is somewhat with SD and lack of fixing this to accommodate what they call a “classic type of fps”

(Nail) #96

the state of the game is early alpha

(Seanza) #97

If it was on Splash Damage, then wouldn’t it be the same on both sides of the pond?

(rand0m) #98

Maybe, not necessarily. Different lifestyle could be a cause for different view points and expectations. I’m not putting the full blame out, but there is some. It’s mostly the players fault, but at the same time if the player isn’t getting the game fixed and making suggestions to improve this game and its not taking place well then something is going wrong on SD end as well. Because if you say there are “waaaaaay more then 5”, then something similar caused them all to take off and not come back.

(Seanza) #99

Lack of motivation and inexperience of actually testing games. It’s a trend we always see in FPS gaming, the Euros stick at it much longer than the Americans. ET, ET:QW and COD4 are 3 great examples that I can think of. It’s always frustrated me and will probably continue to frustrate me. The trend is always “It’s not our fault, there’s nothing for us to play” and it just grinds my gears.

(rand0m) #100

I’m still here testing and giving feedback. I’m just the messenger of the problem. The game just isn’t going to the way most people liked and considering SD is a euro company, the euros are more inclined to be apart of that. Cod4 ended up really good though and infinity ward created a great game without coding issues, movement issues, and other issues as well. I guess the lack of fixing these problems just caused everyone to lose interest. I think the core gameplay should be the first to be taken care of, and then add the load outs and classes later. But instead they’re doing that all first so who knows when they’ll get around to fixing the core gameplay. The money maker load outs need not be implemented right now considering we all already gave them plenty of our loot to help test. Rather then creating load outs, spend time fixing core mechanics and gameplay and I bet you can draw back in players and exposure.
