Port Wild West to ET please - proof that polls work :)

I know the guys who made this mod for RTCW are working on a new 1.6 version.

Ive asked this and seem others ask it on their forum to little response. What i want to know is why it hasnt been ported to ET? Its a great mod and wasted on RTCW, as ET is free and has a huge fanbase with no proper mods - It could be really successful and breathe some new life into ET. I realise its a small team, Gringo Starr from the team posts here so maybe he can add their 2c.

Some new maps would be great too or good conversions like they did with RTCW beach. Convert Goldrush - wagon with gun instead of tank and old wooden buildings instead of the brick ones. Turn Oasis into guns of navarone stylee. Plenty could be done without loosing the great vibe of the mod.

Anyway i’ll still play WW 1.6 but as the majority of my online buddies are ET heads i’ll long for the day WW is part of the ET family

I would love to see this too. I think Wild West would flourish in ET. It’s a great mod and deserves a lot more play than it currently gets. ET would give it more of a chance imo.

The maps are great too, the bank & bible ones bein’ my favourites.

i wanted to get into WW but was only able to ever find one server with players - there was 4 of us altogether. still, it was one of the best 2-2 games i ever played :smiley: i love that whole theme anyway. so ya, port WW to ET and i’ll officially abandon regular ET.

WW is good but three is always just map coverting and mod porting into ET nowadays, i want to see some brad new blood. a new mod and new levels

(might be better for the long term if they were a month+ apart but nvm)

I love the wildwest mod on RTCW, i have mentioned it to the wildwest mod team many times that they should port it to ET.

I’m with Carnage on this one. O.K. I haven’t played the WW mod, so it might be exciting to me as a player of ET. But it is annoying that it seems people are only coding old mods, and adding nothing new to the genre. If I started playing WW, I might really enjoy it, only to find it being abandoned by the nostalgia freaks once their rose tinted specs have fallen off?. :???:

I appreciate how hard it is to come up with new stuff, I’ve had a go at mapping and it boggles the mind ( well o.k. maybe just mine ) enough, let alone a full conversion. But I really do think new stuff is better, look at ETF…I wonder how long it will last?. People are moaning about it already… :eek2:

Tried ETF and wasn’t too impressed with it tbh. But that’s because I need to adapt to its style I guess :-).

The thing with the wild west is that it has charm!! in abundance!!
Engys plant dyna by striking a match off their pliars, The Medics are doctors who throw out old fasioned medical bags (with gasoline bombs)
The weapons are varied and authentic. The voicechats bring a smile to my face. Its all in the gameplay - with a port to ET we could have moving horses and all sorts!!

Sounds like Hewster is busy so we mightnt see it for a few months but hey im glad they’ve decided to go ahead and port it.
