i need help on how to forward ports for et.
i have verizon…
If you’re hosting a server, you’ll need to forward whichever port you’re running the server on. The default is 27960 UDP.
i assume you’re asking about your router’s administration page.
this varies by the model of the router that you’re using. usually you can just type the ip address of your router into your browser and get there. most home networks use 192.168.0.1 for the router.
if this doesn’t work, then your router is either set to a different ip address or listens on a different port number. let me know what make/model your router is and i can tell you for sure.
go to start> run and type cmd and press ok. When dos loads up, type ipconfig and hit enter, it’ll list your ip address, subnet mask and default gateway. The default gateway is the address of your router… type that ip into your browser and you’ll get into your routers page.
well neither do we!
what’s your router make and model? if we knew that we could give you the default admin username/password of it - but we aint psychic
yeah come on now, a bit of info please. All we need is router make, model, how you’re connected to it, visa number, expiry date, security code on the back and your full name and address.
from actiontec’s website:
What is the default username for the router?
The default username for the router is admin all lower case. To activate the password to protect the router you must change the default password, which is blank. You will also not be able to turn on remote management until you have changed the default password.
so the default username is admin and password is blank.
Just in case you tried the password “blank”… I’d recommend using username “admin” and no password. :moo:
You will also not be able to turn on remote management until you have changed the default password.
right, this router won’t let you turn on ‘remote manage’ (access to the web control panel from the outside) until you set another password. but he’s inside, so that shouldn’t matter.
the question now is did you type ‘blank’ or just enter no password? if entering no password didn’t get you in, then someone changed the password, probably your ISP. i’ve never used verizon so i don’t know their policy on that stuff.
