I guess it all comes down do the definition of a good mapper :slight_smile:
I appreciate Drakir’s, and other mappers’, genuine interest in sharing - to make .map-files and prefabs available for all to dl. - and I think that that is a sign of a good mapper and an important aspect of mapping. Making tutorials for others to browse and enjoy - like this insanely good site: http://planetwolfenstein.com/4newbies/ -, is another example of that. :clap:

Drakir makes some great maps but they dont seem to get as much play as some others? Navarone for exaple. I think his nice big maps would be great as a campaign of 3 if SD ever put out an Official Map pack…

And as Loffy says, he shares loads of stuff on his site which is handy for messing around with yourself.

Drakir is the most efficient mapper in ET community.

I think to share map files you have to have balls. Meaning that noob mapper like me scares that experienced mappers would laugh to map sources you put out.
The best mapper vote wouldn’t end ever because there will be new mappers for et. So if we could make the mapper of the month kind of poll.

There’s no need to get scared really, I release the source to all my maps even if they’re not optimal in any way. Usually because I’m lazy and cant be arsed with details. :slight_smile: I’ve also seen map sources from a lot of mappers and I always think there’s something that could have been done better, just as what other mappers would say about my maps. There’s few people that really have a deep and complete picture of the technology behind mapping that also can make something that plays and look really good. We can all learn more, a good reason to actually release the source for the best of the community. Even if some people misuse the “gift” by ripping and stealing maps.

Some of the maps (not evilasmo maps[I map exactly the same style as him]) iv seen the source to, they were built with speed. But they still look good. If the map its self looks good then it shouldnt matter in what way it was made.
Maybe we could make a poll about Blushing Bride :weird: :slight_smile:

that is one point i agree we all love his mapping but we play his levels for like a week and then there over, you cant like find one good server where they play one off drakir’s maps but if we take a look at him and put all the mappers at 1 line i should say drakir he would come out as best mapper

whoever made the map Supply Depot map is the best ET mapper IMHO

Supply Depot may possibly be one of the ugliest maps i’ve seen for ET but it plays superbly :smiley:
