**Poll** Brink Beta ?

(MODERNSAiNT) #121

Closed beta’s are a fantastic way to test how the dynamics shift in game etc it seems as tho splash damages staff and QA are doing an epic job so I’d love a beta as Ive helped in several before, but im not sure if its essential, only essential thing is the stress test of servers to check if NA /UK / JP servers have as little lag as possible…

hopefully this will be optimised

(shtoonkey) #122

Omigosh yes… a closed beta would be perfect. For say… how about using only the people signed up to splash damage forums.:stroggtapir:

(Crytiqal) #123

Oh dude you missed out :frowning:

All the chosen forummembers already received a PM.

(murka) #124

Mentioning the closed beta is a violation of the NDA. Shush now or be terminated.

(brbrbr) #125

“Mentioning” upcoming DLC contents[such as Terminators characters] is NDA violation too.
so its will eventually lead to T-800’s dispatch to you [present]location. you had [enough]time to eat you NDA paper copy, before they arrive and burn you and rest NDA-affected content.

(tokamak) #126

We already went through this on the private forums, zip it.

(Gogeku) #127

Everything else than closed betas always tend to lead to something bad from what I’ve experienced. They should just let a closed circle of experience people/gamers, test the game out like maniacs, before they finish it up, and then release a demo. As many of you already mentioned, the majority of people testing an open beta tend to forget it is a beta and not a demo of the final game.

(tokamak) #128

They already have a closed circle of in-house testers.

The only reason I can see them do an open beta is not for the balance, but to test the server system, like Valve did with Left4Dead, they did all kinds of stress tests before the game went life. The WoW beta had the same actually. Definitely not fun for the player, but incredibly useful nonetheless.

(Gogeku) #129

You’re probably right tokamak, I assume all developers have a committed testing team. I was more thinking of people from the outside who have had experience with games testing before. I remember when BFBC2 came out and the entire server system was overloaded and ****ty even though they had an almost 2 month long open BETA. But I guess DICE and Splash Damage are two really different developers when it comes to the quality of games at release.

Does anyone know what the chances of a possible demo or even open BETA to forum users are? If it was already mentioned in this topic I missed it.

(Mustang) #130

Nothing has been announced yet, anything else is speculation.

(Gogeku) #131

Alright Mustang, thanks for the quick response:)

(X-Frame) #132

If you guys are in the private beta now … my hat goes off to you all. I didn’t hear one squeek of a closed beta for Brink until I came here.

Usually if there’s a private/closed beta - the existence of the beta is common knowledge but nobody says anything because of the NDA.

(tokamak) #133

Yeah, who would want to risk his beta invite just for a bit of bragging?

(DaTsmartKIDD) #134

Damn, Private beta huh.

(INF3RN0) #135

Wait… am I the only one who got into the beta? neenerneenerneener :)! bump ftl

(EyeConic) #136

hate private betas cuz never got in one lol

(Vaporman) #137

This puts me in mind of the other day when I received my full copy of the game and then completed both factions campaigns in single player mode. Just another thing I can’t discuss here.

(Vaporman) #138

I also own a completely functional 2013 XBOX 720 Super X. And a large bridge that is up for sell.

(LyndonL) #139

You can keep the XBOX

(Crytiqal) #140

I just hope they can port BRINK to work on my bio-chip computer :frowning:
