Hello.

I am tired of playing games where I have to hack around files to get widescreen support. I’m tired of dealing with widescreen resolutions, but with distortion due to these hacks.
I shouldn’t have to add flags to my executables to get my widescreen support.

Please.

You guys are awesome, please natively support widescreen displays; we lovers of widescreen shouldn’t be left out in the cold anymore. :frowning:

P.S. If you could squeeze in 16:10 and 16:9 support, and not just one or the other, that would be fantastic.

only problem I can think of is it might give widescreen users a fov advantage

just came into my mind at the moment, never had access to widescreen before, been wondering if being able to use fov 120 on 16:9 might be a better idea

The Doom 3 engine natively supports widescreen aspect rations (with r_aspectratio, funnily enough). I think we need to extend it and hook it into the menus better than D3 and Q4 did, since widescreens are a little more prevalent these days.

I’m now having to insert more spaces between each word in order to get the text to the edge of the screen.

Yeah, widescreen would be perfect in the standard resolutions like 1280x800 as my future laptop will have :P. Et has but i guess nobody uses it as its a weird resolution (not standard) I never seen a monitor having the ET widescreen native supported. Dont even know its resolution…

Well, widescreen is nice, but what would be really fantastic is if each frame was hand-rendered by buxom maidens with oils on canvas.

SD you guys are the best. I’ve been looking forward to ETQW for a long time. You and id are what developers should be. EA/Dice still refuses to support widescreen.

I kid you not, I was going to buy two copies of ETQW when it came out, with one being for WolfET since I played that so much. I think I might buy another just to support SD. Of course I’m getting it for my friends etc.

Hehe I think I have 4 or so copies of Q3…One for my mac…one for my pc, TA, q3 gold and a second gold for the heck of it…
