Please Premade vs Premade only in Casual (Quick Match)

(Sairdontis) #1

After having seeing the video yesterday about the decision to add the ablility to team up to 5 in Quick Match (soon to be Casual) would like to suggest that these up to 5 mans only be queued up against other up to 5 man teams to prevent pubstomping groups from forming.

There is many examples in other games where the public matchup games are steamrolled with premade groups with fully organized practiced members against the usual group of unknowns (usually solo queues) thrown together having never played organized with each other before.

Premade vs Premade still ensures that friends get to team up to together for games in Casual.

You can stack up a full team of 6, and I agree, it would be better, if parties were matched against parties, but with a kind of small player base, it might not be possible. (Not allowing queue times to be unreasonably long)

(Sairdontis) #3

So what is to combat the inherent advantage that a preorganized group will have against your average thrown together average group of solo queuers?

(hurgya) #4

Definitely a compromise between queue times, balance in individual skill and different party sizes (like two 3-s against a 4 and a 2).

Or I really have no idea

Honestly all premades have done is mess up the balance in this game. Playing with friends is great, but just look at the average ranked match.
They should just split players up across both teams tbh.

@STARRYSOCK honestly the only way I see to balance premades is to make them play against other premades.

By itself that could still mean a premade of fresh new players against five level 469454.

Like what others said, we just have too small of a playerbase to do this. Giving a premade up to 5-6 people is just a bit too much of a stack. I feel like it would ruin pubs even more. Hell, even vote shuffling is gonna be completely useless now.

thats why we need to advertise dirty bomb where ever we go so we can have more players

its for the greater good

I tried to lure my friends in, but say no with reasons like; “It’s not really an extraordinary game” and “I suck at shooters”

Lol, I had one friend specifically avoid DB because they saw nexon somewhere on the store page.

Hopefully now less players will be scared away xD

I hear people saying that the playerbase is too small to make pre vs pre matches not be inconvenient for premade teams, so the question why are bothering with premades to begin with? Here’s the plan guys we need more people to start this game to up playerbase so lets promote it to him like this:

"Hey guys and gals come play this fun new game were the first mode(s) you can get in to being a fresh new solo queuing player is going to now be populated with 5 man preorganized teams that will simply steamroll you from every angle why the rest of your team is milling around trying to work together. Doesn’t that sound great?!.. Hey wait where are you going ? Come back! It will be fun to get team crushed before you even can think about Ranked later on ( hell even getting to level 7 for that matter ) . Come on, give it chance it is fun really… " :expressionless:

Look from the look of the set up right now of the game it looks like this imo:

You start out fresh with no merc or map knowledge you get a free merc ( Skyhammer ) and 3 other random mercs of the right combo of roles to be able to choose from for all aspects of the early game. You play learning the characters you can play and the mercs to look out for from encounters with them. Alone the course of playing you meet and maybe talk in game with your team ( gasp ) and get to like some of the other players and decide after you played awhile ( to level 7 ) to invite 4 of those game friends to play with you to try for a rank and some cool skins this season.

With the new premade system allowed coming in soon the playerbase is now possibly going to be separated even further by making static groups that will always play together in Quick Match and likely use their own voice chat and ignore the ingame one ( now there will even less strategy going on in voice than now ) leaving now 2-3 player out of the loop and possibly repeatedly separated from the now “team” effort ( removing the rest of the team ) and getting picked off being out of position .

Bottomline/ TL:DR : This new premade system is going to possible do more to separate the playerbase than making them wait a bit longer in queue for another premade dominated group. But, if this system is so wanted by the current playerbase then there should be no problem getting a quick queue for a premade vs premade match because everyone will be doing it!

(BloodySin) #15

Again: the problem aren’t premades, but people of widely different levels being set together/against each other. If premades of level 10-15 were only set against premades of the same range, it wouldn’t be as bad. Even if some high levels might want to create smurf accounts to troll, there’s no real gain besides them raising their douchebaggery, so not many would go that road for long, leaving their levels, trinkets and cards behind.

(GatoCommodore) #16

@Sairdontis look at it as future investment.

if and when DB goes big (hopefully) they already did the work and people can easily enjoy it.

also, in case DB didnt go big, we always have the game that Wargaming and SD are currently making and SD have the experience to do MM, team invites, premade casual and other multiplayer stuff

ps: dont expect the wargaming game will be good, they are known for their “Methods” in their other games

(Sairdontis) #17

I guess we will see how this goes ( no choice ). Though I have been through this type of thing with other games too and it all ends the same.

Community ran servers and modding

I really doubt they’d consider that… not unless the game was already released, was a big success and with a large stable population.

Don’t forget it’s a free to play game, so they wouldn’t get even an initial purchase. With community ran servers, people might just give themselves credits to buy anything or even cards directly. With mods, people could make their own clothing sets (or lack of them) and make SD’s largest source of income obsolete - not to mention new weapons and even new mercs.

Considering that Wolfenstein Enemy Territory was free, I doubt that will be much of an issue, besides, if it really is then you could put a paywall for it. I’d pay 20 bucks for that luxury.
