It’s unlikely that anyone will submit false accusations. This is a great idea.
Please make a report cheaters feature
about 80% of “cheater reports” are heavily reflect events when new players encounter wannabees with various “custom config”'s, which is make them appear artificially damage resistant, fast, precise and etc, cuz, because providing extremely high VIRTUAL fps[while server is STILL clocked at old 30Hz/60Hz logic], make their game client rely heavily on client side prediction logic, which is boost their artificial advantage, cuz they had “timeback” effect, stonewall precision and etc.
thats another reason, to keep any custom made tweaks forbidden on ranked servers in Brink.
becauze there is no PRACTICAL differences, HOW artificial-superiority/unfair-advantages obtained.

Uh huh. You seem to have a deep understanding of how it all works.
Its unlikely anyone would submit a report where they believe the player isn’t hacking.
Its very likely that the player is not cheating, and its merely the submitter’s ego that colours reality.
This is encouraging.

Burn in hell HelioS.
I have to strongly disagree with this feature.
I already got banned from 3-4 servers by whiny admins who think I am cheating.
Especially that cannibal1974 noob from <F.C.>

If you’re not getting banned from random pubs just for playing then you’re not playing hard enough!
My favorite bit is the cryptic denglish ban reason like “Cheatverdacht”
As someone who prestiged about once every two days in blops, and consequently got a ton of reports against me for having insane kdr (nukespam ftw) and being generally awsome, i can definately say the report function is often abused. However it has not had any consequence for me, either because nobody is watching the demos, of because they are, and find me not guilty.
Whatever the case, i have witnessed talk of reporting actually causing cheaters to leave the server so im guessing it has had some effect on the cheater community. I have only seen about 3-4 cheaters in total in black ops. That figure was present every week or sometime once a day in modern warfare 2. It may be just dedicated servers and admins rights that makes this a more unfriendly game for cheaters.
In short, i see no harm in a report button, as long as there are demos clearing that persons name and the reports are just for bringing attention.
So, basicly I hope guys at spash damage do a report cheaters feature ingame, so players can report cheaters, thats all thks.
But how do YOU know someone is cheating? A cheater isn’t someone who kills you lot FYI. A good anti-cheat system is all we need. Having something like this, would clog up with the amount of cheat accusations.
Oh, the report cheater button. Spammed by every newb out there. Just what we need.
Every brainless monkey out there complaining everybody is cheating.
Let me tell you a story. This christmass, steam had major discounts for a lot of games, Bad Company 2 was 7E for a few days, so yeah, big influx of players and guess what, all of a sudden forum filled with cheater/hackers complains. Every server is plagued, you cannot play a decent game, everybody’s cheating, according to the retards there. Since I was away and stopped playing for a bit I though ‘what the hell’ and just joined. Guess what, it didn’t take long before I was being called a cheater by some idiot. Oh, now I see. The servers are not full of cheaters, but of idiots.
Same thing with Starcraft 2, how could my opponent know I was building mutalisks? He must be cheating. Look, he intercepted me while I was trying to flank, he must be cheating. I got dropped just as I was winning, DROP HACK I tell ya1!!!. He did not scout at all, how the hell did he knew how to beat me>??? ARrrrhrhhhaaaahaaaa!!!
Sure there are cheaters but in my experience punkbuster does it’s job and especially a properly maintained server.
I’ll tell you what, if we will get a server for Brink anyone complaining and whining about cheaters on it will be kicked instantly. I’m so fed up with idiots who have nothing better to do but to fill a spot on a server and chat like the game is an irc client.
lol, nice. Need more new members like him rather than the ones who make an account to ragequit.
All hail gunzo, he’s so awesome, he has to mention it in every post!
(And yes, I’m posting this here because your other thread was created and closed before I even got a chance to read it…)
Seriously though, I hope your “Blops awesomeness and prestiginess” translates to good team play in Brink, but I have a strong suspicion that may not be the case. Good luck.
I still fail to see how you can have a negative kdr on a game like BC2? just take a tank for god’s sake… or just sneak in the corners of the map, take them all by behind, and plant the charge, with the insane easy way to aim (as its boring slow) and the fact you need 2 bullets to kill anyone (or one shotty slug <3), I still fail to see how one can suck at this game, but its maths man, its maths! One 1+ kdr mean one 1- kdr, world is so sad!
Anyway back on trail what was the post about already? Oh yeah, I would be bored as hell with this feature because all my e-friends think that I’m awesome so all the newbz over there would call me a 1337 C}{347Z0RZ and spam the report button at least each millisecond! And I dont want my ubergood e-reputation to be tarnished because of that cuz you know, my e-friends wont think I’m the coolest guy on the e-webz anymore…
If you 1337 as me sign the petition : “I’m too gud for dat izi fud” on www.awesome.com
Oh and btw, dont read this post if you are not awesome enough, it might burn your eyes!
It’s easy. Die a lot. Run into groups of enemies holding defibs instead of a weapon when you are a medic. Take down tanks single-handedly with a repair tool (my personal specialty), and rush straight at a tank that is in the open to do this. Try to arm/disarm objectives solo, with no support. Throw grenades at the walls in front of you…
{True story: Last night I was playing conquest on Vantage Point, defending flag B. The house next to flag was nearly totally destroyed, but that’s where I was, playing medic. The Americans were across the street, pushing toward the objective. Not seeing anyone directly, but knowing that there were at least six enemies in the houses on the other side, I threw my only grenade. It hit the only bamboo pole still sticking up out of the destroyed house right in front of me, and bounced back to my right. I moved as far to the left as I could without leaving the very slight cover I had and threw down a health pack. BOOM! It blows up, and kills the enemy who snuck across the road, and was hiding on the right side of the house. I had no idea he was there, and he would have easily killed me and then taken the flag otherwise. I was hurt, but not killed. Yeah, it’s not a story of me dying, but it totally made my night.}
Unload an entire clip at an enemy, but miss while getting his attention, then empty your pistol clip as well, but still miss, then charge in for a knife kill and get blasted. Get into a tank and start blasting, but never move the tank, so it’s easy for a mortar strike to finish you off.
Apples, you just need to try harder.
Apple, you clearly haven’t played BC2 and only talking from what you saw on videos. Two bullets to kill someone? Pfffff
Firstly, it’s a known fact that BC2’s hit registration is like the worst a game can have. Take a looksie here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmJHRsojelE&hd=1
Secondly, only half of the amount of bullets do damage, this is a ‘fix’ to lower the network load.
Maybe on consoles you can sneak behind everybody and shoot them for half an hour. Not on PC mate, and not when half the players on a server are at level 50.
Why am I bothering to talk to you anyways?
My point is there are far more idiots complaining about hackers than there are hackers. Putting a report button will only turn a good battle into a chat battle ‘muhahaha I’z reported u, u be banned tomorov’ from all the retards who can’t hold a mouse properly.
BC2 admins are really ban happy. Jumping, headshotting someone with smg from miles away, basically anything is enough to get you banned.
Think its for the slower players who like to “play war”.
Brink looks like it’ll be more in your face frenetic combat with multikills depending on your ability to headshot since bodyshots are so weak.
I own the game and played it, owning level 50 guyz was kinda my speciality, I think I have 1.5 kdr or whatever and I was never playing in squad or with any decent team… this game is easy, it is a fact if you know a bit how to play properly an fps, oh and yes senethro I was doing objectives and stuffs like that too, just not everytime as a lemming I admit, and wasnt sniping from across the map, just close combat snipe with magnum bullet <3, from what I remember it needed 2 burst of M16 / AN94 or 2 to 5 bullets with m4 to kill someone provided you make at least one hs in the process.
I’m not talking about the karlogustavo, I dont even see the point
Try to play QLive less than a week (not continuously ofc, just some hours a day during a week) or two and tell me you have a high KDR if you never played Q3, thats a hard game which doesnt promote anything else than aiming and moving skills, people going all over themselves because they are good at CoD or BC2 just make me laugh
Sorry about that but I cant restrain myself, well CoD is a bit faster I will admit that.
AAAAAnyway, I’m too good for that stuffs!
