I don’t know why comp has hate on heartbeat censor. I used to hate how the long range guy has it in a close range game like DB, but then I realized it’s perhaps quite good. Although a good sniper is always a good sniper, giving the radar abilities to the guy that can be very weak in certain situations and that doesn’t have others support abilities maybe balances it out. So in comp they would have to sacrifice firepower if they wanted the censor. But I suppose nothing can get them approve information gathering.
Perhaps the minimap could be implemented properly. I mean at least I can count in one hand the times I’ve used the minimap in game through the time I’ve been in this alpha, it’s so small and the HUD is full of icons so you rarely think of using it. One reason also why people dislike HBcensor is that it seems “wallhacky” because you in priciple know where exactly the enemy is.
Perhaps we should get rid of HBcensor HUD icons (and some other icons while we’re at it) and concentrate on making the minimap more informative and usable. Then the heartbeat censor could maybe be a bit more powerful than what it is now (currently it seems really odd, does it require line of sight between enemy and the censor? Sometimes range is really small), because you couldn’t tell where exactly the enemy was because the info would be tied to the minimap.
Maybe this way the information gathering abilities of covert weren’t despised so much, but they would still be more useful in one sense.
Personally don’t need to see disguise, somehow doesn’t fit the game IMO.
