Hello BondyBoy007,

that was the idea, it’s supposed to[/quote]
That is sadly, because Arcade Games are more a game for sometimes not for a serious esport. Why creating a game with those big potential for strategy like the asymmetric gameplay, the deployables and vehicles, if the movement is so much arcade that you can easy jump across the map and jump out of tank bullet and so on? You really force tactics if the soldier have to plan every steps if he knows, if he left the building, he will targeting by a walker, some snipers and a artillery in the near! But this is often discussed and I really won´t make the fur fly, whats happend often here too much to my regret.

Strategy does not have to be linked to simulation. ET is more arcade style yet it takes good team work and tactics to achieve objectives. I for one would not want a game that I have to meticulously plan out every step and I am going to take. If u want highly detailed war simulation get a different game or better yet, why not go and join the army?

I want something fun, with good game play and team work! This is what I reckon this game will be delivering.

why does everyone think

fast paced games <> skill/strategy

was Quake3 too fast to be a “serious esport”?

what he said too ^^^^

Hello Guys,

OK, serious esport ist not correct. But one is clear, if a soldier dies faster, because he can not jump out of the target zone, he is force plan his steps better! And a fast aracade like gameplay is not really forces this, right?

(kamikazee) #46

Indeed, it doesn’t force it, but neither does it disallow it.

A planned assault is still more effective, so the end result remains the same.

I dont know about the general but my ability to out jump panzerfausts is limited at best!

Plus surely fast and frantic game play means that if one rushes straight out without some degree of planning then they will die very quickly. Therefore, fast arcade game play means u and a team have to be a bit more cautious at times!

i would change the look of the crosshairs other than that everything else seems ok and im not a big fan of the quake games wolf ET was great (still is) this has to be the most polished beta ive played so far kudos to id and sd keep up the great work

I tend to agree, though what I find most humorous is that most games support only Windows and those that don’t after have all of their beta testing done by Windows users, which by the way seem to be the biggest whiners pound for pound and the poor Linux and Mac users have to sit here and listen to them cry their hearts out in an attempt to flock up a perfectly good game in most cases. You would think the game developers would have learned by now. SIGH
